When Is the CFL Draft?

How Many Rounds Are in the CFL Draft?

There are eight rounds in the 2025 CFL Draft. 

Who Is Eligible for the CFL Draft?

To be eligible for the CFL Draft, you must be a Canadian national. The player must also have played at a U Sports or NCAA program. There are 27 universities in Canada that are part of U Sports football. 

Players from the NCAA are eligible after their fourth year of college football, while U Sports players are eligible after their third year.

Per the 2022 collective bargaining agreement, the two teams with national players playing the highest percentage of snaps will receive an additional second-round pick. These teams haven’t been disclosed as of Feb. 14. 

Edmonton’s first and eighth-round picks were forfeited for making selections in the 2024 supplemental draft.
