  • Panther running back Chuba Hubbard ran for nearly 1,200 yards and signed a new four-year deal midseason.
  • Chuba Hubbard had 238 carries for the Carolina Panthers in 2023.
  • Bengals running back Chase Brown showcased his every-down back ability with 990 rushing yards and 54 catches.

While plenty of Canadian-born players impact CFL betting throughout that season, the cream of the crop takes their talents to the NFL to hopefully impact their squad’s Super Bowl odds

Some of these players have online sports betting odds for individual production.

Below, I’ll list the seven best active Canadian NFL players.

1. Alaric Jackson, Los Angeles Rams: Windsor, Ontario

Finding a franchise left tackle can be a challenging task, but the Rams appear to have theirs with Jackson.

He was fine in 2023, but in 2024, he was excellent.

He allowed three sacks, two more than in 2023, but allowed 16 fewer pressures.

Of his three sacks, two came in his first two games of the season, Week 3 and 4, and from there, he allowed just one more in Week 10.

2. Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers: Edmonton, Alberta

Hubbard took a massive step forward in 2024, rushing 250 times for 1,195 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also caught 43 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown.

He averaged 4.8 yards per carry, a full yard more than 2023.

His uptick in production was rewarded with a four-yard, $33.2 million deal on Nov. 7, 2024.

3. Jevon Holland, Miami Dolphins: Coquitlam, British Columbia

Holland took a step back in 2024 compared to 2023. His production could probably put him further down on the list, but I’m willing to take a chance on that talent we saw last season and his rookie campaign in 2021.

This season, he had one forced fumble, a sack, two tackles for loss, and 62 tackles.

He allowed three touchdowns, the same as 2023, but didn’t have an interception.

He took a step back as a tackler, with 12 missed tackles. His missed tackle percentage was 17.1%, the highest of his career.

We’ll see how he does in 2025. He has a lot of talent.

4. Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals: London, ON

Brown was hardly used as a rookie, but he had plenty of production in his second season.

In 16 games, he had 229 carries for 990 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns. He also added 54 catches on 65 targets for 360 yards and four touchdowns.

This production came despite the Bengals having weapons like Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

He’s shown he can be an every-down back.

5. Matthew Bergeron, Atlanta Falcons: Victoriaville, Quebec

Bergeron took a step forward in his second season in the NFL as both a pass and run blocker. He allowed 33 pressures this season, the same as his rookie season, but allowed just three sacks instead of six.

One area he could improve on is penalties. He played 1,106 snaps compared to 1,127 in 2023 and had 12 penalties this past season compared to four as a rookie.

These improvements came in a different system, with Kirk Cousins coming in at quarterback and Zac Robinson taking over as offensive coordinator.

If he can control the penalties, he’ll be a solid left guard in the NFL, which many teams would like to have.

6. Michael Hoecht, Los Angeles Rams: Oakville, ON

A rotational pass rusher, Hoecht had just five starts this season but suited up in all 17 games.

He recorded one pass breakup, three sacks, and 56 tackles.

He played roughly 300 fewer snaps this season compared to 2023, so there was a bit of a production drop-off, but he had eight fewer missed tackles.

Hoecht also improved in the run game, considering the drop-off in snaps.

Having a solid rotational pass rusher is never a bad thing for any NFL team, especially one that isn’t a total liability in run defence.

7. Josh Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers: Brampton, Ontario

Palmer played in five more games in 2024 compared to 2023, and the production was relatively the same.

In 2023, he caught 38 passes for 581 yards and two touchdowns. This season, he caught 39 passes for 584 yards and one touchdown. This came despite a lack of weapons overall on the depth chart.

He’s shown to be a solid, deep threat. Of his targets this past season, 28.6% were 20-plus yards downfield, and he caught eight passes for 250 yards and a touchdown, averaging 31.3 yards per catch.
