  • Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson signed a $56 million extension, but is now dealing with blood clots.
  • Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard signed a four-year deal in the middle of last season.
  • Josh Palmer signed a deal this offseason with the Buffalo Bills and should see more opportunities for production with Josh Allen as his quarterback.

Plenty of Canadian-born football players head north and impact CFL betting throughout that season, but the best talent, regardless of where they were born, head to the NFL to make an impact on the Super Bowl odds for their team.

Online sports betting for the Super Bowl and the CFL is available at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Below are the seven best active Canadian NFL players.

Best Canadian Football Players in the NFL Right Now

1. Alaric Jackson, Los Angeles Rams: Windsor, Ontario

Finding a franchise left tackle can be a challenging task, but the Rams appear to have theirs with Jackson.

He was fine in 2023, but excellent in 2024.

He allowed three sacks, two more than in 2023, but allowed 16 fewer pressures.

Of his three sacks, two came in his first two games of the season, Week 3 and Week 4. From there, he allowed just one more in Week 10.

In February, he signed a three-year, $56.3 million extension with the Rams.

Unfortunately, Jackson is dealing with blood clots, which leaves his playing status uncertain.

2. Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers: Edmonton, Alberta

Hubbard took a massive step forward in 2024, rushing 250 times for 1,195 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also caught 43 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown.

He averaged 4.8 yards per carry, a full yard more than in 2023.

His uptick in production was rewarded with a four-year, $33.2 million deal.

The Panthers did add more running back talent this offseason, including Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne, so we’ll see how that cuts into his production in 2025-26.

3. Jevon Holland, New York Giants: Coquitlam, British Columbia

Holland took a step back in 2024 compared to 2023. His production could put him further down on the list, but I’m willing to take a chance on that talent we saw last season and his rookie campaign in 2021.

Last season, he had one forced fumble, a sack, two tackles for loss, and 62 tackles.

He allowed three touchdowns, the same as 2023, but didn’t have an interception.

Loaded with talent, he signed a three-year deal worth $45.3 million with the Giants and will look to get back to being a highly productive free safety.

4. Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals: London, ON

Brown was hardly used as a rookie, but he had plenty of production in his second season.

In 16 games, he had 229 carries for 990 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns. He also added 54 catches on 65 targets for 360 yards and four touchdowns.

He’ll be the Bengals’ primary running back in 2025-26.

5. Josh Palmer, Buffalo Bills: Brampton, Ontario

Palmer played in five more games in 2024 compared to 2023, and the production was relatively the same.

In 2023, he caught 38 passes for 581 yards and two touchdowns. Last season, he caught 39 passes for 584 yards and one touchdown. This came despite a lack of weapons overall on the depth chart.

Palmer signed a three-year deal with the Bills this offseason and will serve as one of the top two receivers on the team. I’ve moved him up from No. 7 to No. 5, since I think he’ll be more productive with Josh Allen as his quarterback.

6. Matthew Bergeron, Atlanta Falcons: Victoriaville, Quebec

Bergeron took a step forward in his second season in the NFL as both a pass and run blocker. He allowed 33 pressures last season, the same as his rookie season, but allowed just three sacks instead of six.

One area he could improve on is penalties. He played 1,106 snaps compared to 1,127 in 2023 and had 12 penalties this past season compared to four as a rookie.

7. Michael Hoecht, Buffalo Bills: Oakville, ON

A rotational pass rusher, Hoecht had just five starts last season, but suited up in all 17 games.

He recorded one pass breakup, three sacks, and 56 tackles.

He signed a three-year deal with the Bills this offseason but was hit with a six-game suspension in March.
