1. Daniel Alfredsson

The heart and soul of the Senators for nearly two decades, Daniel Alfredsson epitomizes Ottawa Senators hockey. He led Ottawa to a Presidents’ Trophy in 2002, and the 2007 Stanley Cup final.

Alfredsson won the Calder Cup as the NHL’s best rookie in 1996. He remains the franchise’s all-time leader in goals (426), assists (682), and points (1108). Currently a Senators assistant coach, he left an unmatched legacy in Ottawa.

2. Erik Karlsson

The only other player to win an individual award in Ottawa, Erik Karlsson was a force on the Senators’ blue line for nearly a decade.

Karlsson transformed the role of a defenseman in his time with the Senators, leading the league in assists in 2015. He took home two Norris trophies in his time with the Sens and became the first defenseman since Paul Coffey in 1985 to finish top five in scoring in the NHL during the 2015-16 season.

Despite playing on the back end, Karlsson sits 10th in goals scored (126) and third in assists (392) and points (518) in franchise history.

3. Jason Spezza

The Senators’ second overall pick in the 2001 NHL Draft, Jason Spezza was a huge part of Ottawa’s run to the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals. His 22 points in the 2007 playoffs are tied for the franchise record with Alfredsson and Dany Heatley.

Spezza sits second in franchise goals (251), assists (436), and points (687). He was a central figure in Ottawa’s lineup for a decade, leaving a lasting impact that Sens fans remember fondly.

4. Chris Phillips

A steady presence on the Senators’ blueline for close to two decades, Chris Phillips became a fan favourite and pillar of reliability in Ottawa.

He holds the record for games played in Senators colours (1179) and sits seventh in all-time assists (217).

5. Wade Redden

Much like his longtime teammate Chris Phillips, Wade Redden was a mainstay of the Ottawa Senators’ defence for 11 seasons.

He sits fourth in franchise history in games played (838) and assists (309), and fifth in points (410). Redden represented Ottawa at the 2002, and 2004 All-Star Games, and helped lead the team to the 2007 Stanley Cup final. He was inducted into the Sens’ Ring of Honor in 2022.

6. Marian Hossa

A dynamic forward with an exhilarating sense for flair, Marian Hossa was one of the most lethal goal scorers in Ottawa Senators’ history. The 12th overall pick in the 1997 NHL Draft, Hossa put up four straight seasons of more than 30 goals in seven years with the franchise.

Hossa remains fourth in Senators history in goals (188), eighth in assists (202), and seventh in points (390).

7. Alexei Yashin

A pivotal figure in the Senators’ early years, Alexei Yashin showcased exceptional skill and scoring ability. Accumulating 491 points in 504 games with Ottawa, he was a consistent offensive force, leading the team in scoring for several seasons.

Yashin’s phenomenal 1998-99 season, in which he lit up the NHL with 94 points, solidified his status as one of the Senators’ best players of all time.
