  • At 28-13, the Philadelphia Phillies have the best record in the majors.
  • The Phillies and Baltimore Orioles have seen their World Series odds shorten.
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers remain World Series favourites at +310.

There has been further movement in World Series odds over the last week. The Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, and Philadelphia Phillies have seen their prices shorten. The Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, and Toronto Blue Jays are among the teams with longer title odds than they had a week ago.

There is a clear group of front-runners right now. The five favourites are +1000 or shorter, while only four other teams are below +3000.

Let’s check out the latest 2024 baseball odds to win the World Series.

Who Is Favoured To Win MLB World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Odds +310

Online sportsbooks at BetMGM have priced the Dodgers as World Series favourites all season. They have moved from +350 to +310 over the last week. Winners of 15 of their last 19 and leading both leagues in run differential, Dave Roberts’ team have lived up to the hype so far.

A series loss to the San Diego Padres on the weekend was no more than a minor setback. Some injuries have hampered the pitching staff, but their key hitters are all healthy. Their next seven series are against teams below .500.

Atlanta Braves World Series Odds +450

Third in xwOBA from their hitters and third in xwOBA allowed by their pitchers, the Atlanta Braves have been dominant even with Matt Olson struggling at the plate and Spencer Strider injured for the rest of the season. They might be second in the NL East, but they are still given a 12.5% of winning the World Series by Baseball Reference.

Marcell Ozuna has been carrying the offence. Olson, Austin Riley, and Ronald Acuña Jr. are bound to heat up in the next few weeks. With the rotation dealing, the Braves are certainly capable of winning the World Series despite Strider’s injury.

New York Yankees World Series Odds +700

The Yankees are not top of their division, but that doesn’t stop them from having the shortest World Series odds among AL teams. Having gone 8-3 so far in May, the Yankees look incredibly formidable.

Like the Braves, they are doing this without their ace. Unlike Strider, Gerrit Cole is going to return to the majors at some point this season. New York has finally seen Aaron Judge get going at the plate, while Luis Gil, Carlos Rodón, and Nestor Cortes have been phenomenal on the mound.

Baltimore Orioles World Series Odds +1000

The Orioles have won 18 of their last 25 games. Cedric Mullins is their only everyday hitter with an OPS+ below 114. John Means and Kyle Bradish have returned to the rotation, accompanying Cy Young candidate Corbin Burnes, and the underrated Dean Kremer.

Elite on both sides of the ball and with the prospect capital to make a big trade or two at the deadline, the Orioles are clearly a World Series contender. In fact, I am a bit surprised to see them so far behind the Yankees in the latest odds.

Philadelphia Phillies World Series Odds +1000

On a 20-5 run and owners of the best record in the majors, the Phillies are playing exceptional baseball. Only the Dodgers have a better run differential, their pitchers are second in xwOBA conceded, and their offence is stacked even with Trea Turner on the injured list.

There is still room for improvement. Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber should be more productive. The bullpen has plenty of upside. After taking advantage of a softer part of the schedule, it will be interesting to see how the Phils get on when they face the Texas Rangers later this month.
