  • The Philadelphia Phillies have MLB’s best record at 45-20.
  • Only six teams are shorter than +2000 to win the World Series.
  • The five favourites haven’t seen their odds move over the last week.

World Series odds appear to have stabilized over the last seven days. The Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, and Baltimore Orioles remain the five favourites. None of their odds have moved over the last week.

In the chasing pack, the Houston Astros lengthened to +2000, while the Cleveland Guardians moved to the same price. The Milwaukee Brewers, with a substantial lead in the National League Central, shortened from +3500 to +2800. The Chicago Cubs slipped from +3500 to +5000.

Let’s check out the latest 2024 baseball odds to win the World Series.

Who Is Favoured To Win MLB World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Odds +300

Online sportsbooks at BetMGM price the Los Angeles Dodgers as clear favourites to win the 2024 World Series. Los Angeles’ star-studded roster has the Dodgers eight games clear in the National League West, despite going just 15-13 over their last 28 games.

A series win over the Yankees at the weekend was a demonstration of how good the Dodgers are. There are holes on this roster, though, and Andrew Friedman will need to be active ahead of the trade deadline to acquire a couple of extra bats and potentially a reliever.

New York Yankees World Series Odds +500

On a 20-6 run, the Yankees are an absolute juggernaut. Several members of their rotation are having All-Star calibre seasons. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto are battling for MVP. Perhaps most importantly, though, Gerrit Cole has looked great in his rehab starts, and he’s expected to join the big-league club in a week or so.

Their offence has produced the best xwOBA, and their pitching staff has been exceptional. The Yankees will obviously look to add at the trade deadline, but they are absolutely stacked right now. The threat of the Orioles in the AL East is the only thing stopping them from catching the Dodgers in this market.

Philadelphia Phillies World Series Odds +600

The Phillies split the London series with the New York Mets. Philadelphia is cruising atop the NL East, but there are some tricky series to come in the next few weeks. They face the Orioles, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Detroit Tigers before the end of the month.

Trea Turner and Brandon Marsh aren’t far from returning. That will be a useful boost for the Phils, who would benefit from the extra lineup depth with Nick Castellanos, Johan Rojas, Whit Merrifield, and Cristian Pache struggling at the plate.

Atlanta Braves World Series Odds +800

Atlanta is nine games back in the NL East. While they are still well-placed to reach the postseason, their ceiling is much lower with Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr. ruled out for the rest of the year. They are 9-15 over their last 24 games and have just a 9% chance of winning the World Series according to Fangraphs.

Marcell Ozuna is the only Brave excelling at the plate. Atlanta’s underlying metrics are still very good on both sides of the ball, but I am a bit concerned about the durability of their rotation and their offence isn’t producing enough. They could quickly be pulled back into the wild-card mix over the next fortnight or so.

Baltimore Orioles World Series Odds +1000

Even with John Means and Tyler Wells out for the year and Dean Kremer on the injured list, I like the value on the Orioles at +1000. Baltimore is only 2.5 games back in the AL East and has the joint-second best record in the American League.

The next few weeks will reveal a lot about the Orioles. Their next seven series are against the Braves, Phillies, Yankees, Astros, Guardians, Texas Rangers, and Seattle Mariners.
