  • Team USA is now an odds-on favourite to win the 4 Nations Face-Off.
  • The Americans’ odds shifted from -160 to -110 after Canada qualified for the final.
  • Team Canada’s odds moved from +175 to -110 after their win over Finland.

And then there were two.

Team USA and Canada – the two hockey betting favourites to win the 4 Nations Face-Off at the beginning of the tournament – will meet in Thursday’s championship game.

The Americans clinched their spot with their rousing win over Canada on Saturday night, while the Canadians punched their ticket with a win over Finland in their final round-robin game.

The game will be played at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday at TD Garden in Boston.

Prediction: Who Will Win the 4 Nations Face-Off?

The odds at the BetMGM sportsbook tell you everything you need to know about this matchup.

It’s a coin flip.

Both Team USA and Canada are sitting at -110 to win the 4 Nations Face-Off, meaning this is a true pick’em.

That said, Team USA is my best online sportsbook prediction to win Thursday’s final.

The Americans have been a defensive force throughout the tournament, which should give them the edge over a Canadian side that has had issues keeping the puck out of their net.

Odds to Win the 4 Nations Face-Off

Team USA 4 Nations Face-Off Odds -110

There’s not much use in looking into Team USA’s 2-1 loss to Sweden on Monday night. It was a meaningless game, the Americans played short-handed, and starting goaltender Connor Hellebuyck sat out to be rested for Thursday’s final.

While Canada will look to goad the Americans into a back-and-forth contest, Team USA will try to keep the game simple and rely on its structure to get the win.

The Americans have plenty of firepower at the top of their roster, but they can’t match Canada star-for-star. It’s in the Yanks’ best interest to keep this game tidy and rely on Hellebuyck as the difference-maker.

Team Canada 4 Nations Face-Off Odds -110

Canada was under plenty of pressure on Monday but made things look relatively simple in a 5-3 win over Finland at TD Garden.

Led by Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Sidney Crosby, the Canadians jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and were able to see off a late push by the Finns to get the game over the line.

Undoubtedly, the top of Canada’s roster is the best in the world, but there are still some serious concerns about the goaltending.

Jordan Binnington has played well enough to lead Canada to a 2-1 record and get them to the championship, but he’s allowed at least one questionable goal in each contest.

While the Canadians were able to get away with that against Sweden and Finland, it will be a lot tougher to do so against the Americans, given the latter’s advantage in goal.
