Home advantage is a factor to consider when evaluating Canada’s soccer betting odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook. Canada is hosting World Cup matches for the first time after the country’s bid to host the competition in 1986 received no votes.

This also marks Canada’s third World Cup appearance. They are still searching for their first win after losing all six matches in the 1986 and 2022 tournaments.

BC Place, Vancouver

Vancouver’s BC Place will host seven matches at the World Cup, starting with Australia against Türkiye on June 13. Two of Canada’s three group matches are in Vancouver, with the host nation facing Qatar on June 18 and Switzerland on June 24.

The 54,000-seater stadium is scheduled to host the round of 32 and the round of 16 matches.

If Canada wins Group B, they will play their first knockout match at BC Place. The winner of Group B will face the third-placed team from Group E, F, G, I, or J. The winner of that match will remain in Vancouver for a round of 16 matchup with either the winner of Group K or another third-placed team.

BC Place hosted nine matches during the Women’s World Cup in 2015, including the United States’ win over Japan in the final.

BMO Field, Toronto

Six World Cup matches will be played at BMO Field in Toronto. With a capacity of 45,000, it is the smallest stadium in use for this summer’s tournament.

BMO Field will host Canada’s first match of the tournament on June 12, as the Canucks take on Bosnia and Herzegovina. Four more group matches will be played in Toronto before BMO Field is used for a round of 32 contest.

The runners-up in Groups K and L will meet on July 2. There’s a chance England and/or Portugal feature in that matchup.
