1. Jonathan David — 39
Jonathan David became Canada’s all-time leading scorer in November 2024.
A three-time Canada Soccer Men’s Player of the Year, David is one of the best Canadian players ever. He’s only 26 years old and will have a massive lead atop the goal-scoring charts when he hangs up his boots.

2. Cyle Larin — 30
In January 2022, Cyle Larin broke Dwayne De Rosario’s record to become Canada’s leading scorer. Larin’s record lasted less than three years before David broke it.
A journeyman with experience in Turkey, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands, Larin is into his 30s, yet still has plenty of value to the national team.
3. Dwayne De Rosario — 22
De Rosario held the record for just under a decade. Playing at a time when Canada was much less competitive, De Rosario notably only scored three goals in major tournaments.
He was named Canadian Soccer Player of the Year on four occasions.
T-4. Lucas Cavallini — 19
Lucas Cavallini debuted in 2018 and scored his first international goals in the same year with a brace against the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The forward has spent most of his career in Mexico and last appeared internationally in 2023.
T-4. John Catliff — 19
A Vancouver-born striker, John Catliff scored 19 goals for Canada between 1985 and 1993.
Catliff scored four of his 19 goals in the 1994 World Cup qualifying.
T-4. Dale Mitchell — 19
Dale Mitchell played for a variety of teams across North America in the 1980s and 90s.
Mitchell scored his first two goals for Canada in a friendly win over New Zealand. He found the net three times in the 1991 Gold Cup.
T-7. Tosaint Ricketts — 17
Across a well-travelled career, Tosaint Ricketts amassed 61 caps and scored 17 goals for Canada.
Ricketts played in Romania, Norway, Turkey, and Israel before wrapping up his playing days with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
T-7. Junior Hoilett — 17
Eligible to represent Canada or Jamaica, Junior Hoilett ultimately opted to represent Canada. He’s featured in four Gold Cups and a World Cup for his country of birth.
The individual highlight of his international career was a hat trick against Cuba in the 2024-25 Nations League.
9. Alex Bunbury — 16
Alex Bunbury was named to Canada’s all-time men’s XI in 2012. He spent his peak years in Portugal and has become a co-owner of Portosantense.
Nine of Bunbury’s 16 goals for Canada came in World Cup qualifiers.

Ali Gerba was prolific, scoring 15 goals in 31 caps.
Gerba is Canada’s all-time leading scorer in the Gold Cup with six.
T-10. Alphonso Davies — 15
Alphonso Davies passed a Canadian citizenship test in 2017 to become eligible for the national team.
He won the Gold Cup in 2017 and has been named Canada’s Men’s Soccer Player of the Year on four occasions.
