UCLA Bruins All-Time Greatest Women’s Basketball Players
1. Ann Meyers
Ann Meyers set a standard of excellence, as she was the first woman in the country to spend four years as a scholarship athlete and the first college basketball player, men’s or women’s, to record a quadruple-double, putting up 20 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals in 1978.
She also became the first woman to sign a contract with an NBA team, inking a deal with the Indiana Pacers in 1979 and participating in a three-day tryout before getting cut.
After her stint with the Pacers, Meyers joined the New Jersey Gems of the Women’s Professional Basketball League, winning co-MVP for the 1979–1980 season.
2. Denise Curry
Denise Curry helped the Bruins win a national championship in 1978, as she put up a UCLA-best 3,198 points during her time with the program while registering 130 straight games of double-digit scoring efforts. She also has the most rebounds in UCLA history.
Curry helped Team USA win a gold medal during the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
3. Natalie Williams
Natalie Williams made two All-American teams, as she averaged 22.1 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.0 blocks per game during her final three seasons with the Bruins.
Williams left UCLA No. 7 on the all-time scoring list, No. 3 in rebounds, No. 6 in blocks, and No. 4 in field goal percentage.
The four-time WNBA All-Star played with her hometown Utah Starzz for four seasons before playing her last three with the Indiana Fever.
4. Jordin Canada
Jordin Canada recorded the most assists (831) and second-most points (2,153) in UCLA history, helping the Bruins get to the Sweet 16 three straight times.
Canada was selected No. 5 overall by the Seattle Storm in 2018, spending four seasons there before moving on to the Los Angeles Sparks and Atlanta Dream.
Canada averaged 13.3 points and 6.0 assists per game during the 2023 WNBA season.
5. Maylana Martin
Maylana Martin, Curry, and Canada are the only three players in UCLA history to score at least 2,000 points.
She’s also No. 5 on the program’s all-time rebounding list and No. 4 in field goal percentage.
Martin was drafted No. 10 overall by the Minnesota Lynx in 2000, playing two seasons in the WNBA.
