Duke Blue Devils All-Time Greatest Women’s Basketball Players

1. Alana Beard

Alana Beard has the most points (2,687), steals (403), fourth-most assists (509), and seventh-most blocks (148) in program history.

The three-time ACC Player of the Year and multiple time All-American is the only Duke player to score over 700 points in a season, dropping 813 points in the 2002-03 season.

The four-time WNBA All-Star was drafted No. 2 overall by the Washington Mystics in 2004, spending 14 seasons in the league.

Beard won Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2017 and 2018 and helped the Los Angeles Sparks win a championship in 2016.

2. Chris Moreland

Chris Moreland has the most rebounds (1,229) and second-most points (2,232) in program history.

She was the first Blue Devils women’s basketball player to be elected to the Duke Sports Hall of Fame and be named first team All-America.

Moreland was the ACC Rookie of the Year in 1985 and ACC Player of the Year in 1987.

3. Chelsea Gray

Chelsea Gray has the second-most assists (545) and third-most steals (298) in program history.

She recorded 201 assists during the 2011-12 season, becoming the only player to dish out over 200 dimes in Duke history.

The 2013 ACC Player of the Year and multiple time All-American helped Duke win two ACC Tournament championships and helped them get to the Elite Eight three times.

The six-time WNBA All-Star was drafted No. 11 overall by the Connecticut Sun in 2014. She later helped the Sparks win a championship in 2016 and the Las Vegas Aces earn titles in 2022 and 2023, as she was named Finals MVP in 2022.

4. Monique Currie

Monique Currie has the third-most points (2,122), sixth-most rebounds (874), and seventh-most steals (228) in program history.

The 2005 ACC Player of the Year and multiple time All-American helped Duke get to the national championship game in 2006. She also won ACC Tournament MVP in 2002.

Currie was drafted No. 3 overall by the Charlotte Sting in 2006, as she played 13 years in the WNBA.

5. Elizabeth Williams

Elizabeth Williams has the second-most rebounds (1,078), blocks (426), and fourth-most points (1,955) in program history.

She was a multiple time All-American and four-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year during her time at Duke,

Williams was drafted No. 4 overall by Connecticut in 2015, as she was named an All-Star in 2017.
