Baylor Bears All-Time Greatest Women’s Basketball Players
1. Brittney Griner
Brittney Griner has the most points (3,238), blocks (748), and second-most rebounds (1,305) in program history.
The multiple-time All-American was a two-time Naismith College Player of the Year, two-time Wade Trophy Player of the Year, two-time John R. Wooden Award winner, two-time AP Player of the Year, two-time USBWA National Player of the Year, three-time WBCA Defensive Player of the Year, three-time Big 12 Player of the Year, four-time Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, and three-time Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Griner was also part of the Baylor team that won the national championship game in 2012 when the Bears took down the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 80-61, as she finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds.
The 10-time WNBA All-Star was drafted No. 1 by the Phoenix Mercury in 2013, helping them win a championship in 2014. The two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year is also an eight-time blocks leader and a two-time scoring champion.
2. Odyssey Sims
Odyssey Sims has the most steals (331), and second-most points (2,533), assists (641), and 3-pointers (258) in program history.
The multiple-time All-American was the Big 12 Player of the Year and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 while also earning the Nancy Lieberman Award, Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award, Dawn Staley Award, and Wade Trophy.
Sims put up 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in the 2012 national championship game.
The 2019 WNBA All-Star was selected No. 2 overall by the Tulsa Shock in 2014.
3. Sophia Young
Sophia Young has the most rebounds (1,309), second-most steals (312), and third-most points (2,461) in program history.
The multiple-time All-American was the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2006 and Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2005.
Young also helped Baylor win a national championship in 2005, putting up 25 points and six rebounds in the Bears’ 84-62 win over the Michigan Wolverines.
The three-time WNBA All-Star was selected No. 4 overall by the San Antonio Silver Stars in 2006.
4. Sheila Lambert
Sheila Lambert has the second-highest points per game average (20.9), ninth-most steals (195), and 10th-most assists (398) in program history despite playing just two seasons for Baylor.
Lambert was drafted No. 7 overall by the Charlotte Sting of the WNBA in 2002, joining the Detroit Shock a year later and winning a championship.
5. Nina Davis
Nina Davis has the fourth-most points (2,433) and fifth-most rebounds (1,074) in program history.
The multiple-time All-American was the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2015.
