Alabama Crimson Tide All-Time Greatest Women’s Basketball Players
1. Dominique Canty
Dominique Canty has the most points (2,294), third-most steals (220), and fourth-most rebounds (909) in program history.
The multiple-time All-American and three-time first-team All-SEC selection was the SEC Tournament MVP in 1996. She’s also the only Alabama player to be a finalist for the Naismith Player of the Year twice.
Canty was drafted No. 29 overall by the Detroit Shock in 1999, playing 14 seasons in the WNBA.
2. Niesa Johnson
Niesa Johnson has the most assists (800), steals (350), second-most points (2,134), fourth-most 3-pointers (265), and sixth-most rebounds (846) in program history.
The three-time All-American was named to the first-team All-SEC three times.
Johnson played for the Charlotte Sting of the WNBA in 1999 and 2000.
3. Shalonda Enis
Shalonda Enis averaged 20.5 points per game during her two seasons at Alabama, which is the highest scoring average in program history.
The four-time All-American was a member of the first-team All-SEC twice.
Enis was drafted No. 13 overall by the Washington Mystics in 1999, playing one season there before playing her final four WNBA seasons with Charlotte.
4. Yolanda Watkins
Yolanda Watkins has the most rebounds (1,096), second-most blocks (151), and fourth-most points (1,778) in program history.
Watkins helped the Crimson Tide get to the Final Four in 1994. She was voted to an All-SEC team twice, and her record for blocked shots was not eclipsed until the 2016-2017 season.
Former head coach Rick Moody considered her “a franchise-type player.”
5. Jasmine Walker
Jasmine Walker has the seventh-most rebounds (804) and eighth-most 3-pointers (205) in program history.
Walker helped the Crimson Tide qualify for the March Madness Tournament in 2021, their first since 1999.
The 2021 first-team All-SEC selection was drafted No. 7 overall by the Los Angeles Sparks that same year, spending two seasons in the WNBA.
