The WNBA is finally coming to Canada, as Toronto was one of three cities rewarded with a team as part of the league’s expansion efforts.

What is Toronto’s team name and logo in the WNBA? Let’s find out

What’s Toronto’s Team Name in the WNBA?

Toronto’s team name in the WNBA is the Tempo.

“Tempo is pace,” Teresa Resch, president of the Tempo, said in a press release. “It’s speed. It’s a heartbeat. And it’s what you feel when you step into the streets of this city and in the energy of the people who call Canada home.

“As Canada’s WNBA team, I know the Tempo will set our own pace, move at a championship cadence, and inspire people across this country.”

What’s Toronto’s Tempo’s Logo?

The Tempo’s logo reflects the team’s values. The logo’s forward-leaning motion represents the team’s desire for progress.

Its sharp angles and round curves are a nod to the dynamic nature of the team and the game.

The logo’s six lines coming out of a ball with an italicized “T” in the middle represent the five players on the court and the sixth player in the game: the fans.

What are the Toronto Tempo Team Colours?

Resch describes the Tempo’s team colours as light blue and red, “a modern take on a very familiar Canadian colour palate.”

When the team gets going in 2026, Toronto Tempo odds will be available at the BetMGM sportsbook.
