Max Holloway vs. José Aldo I – UFC 212: Aldo vs. Holloway
Following his UFC interim featherweight title win over Anthony Pettis in December 2016, the UFC gave Holloway the chance to become the undisputed king of the 145-pound division when he was booked to face José Aldo in the main event of UFC 212 in June 2017.
Holloway shrugged off a slow start in the fight and outstruck “The King of Rio” to eventually get the finish in the third round via TKO. This career-defining triumph has kicked off a new era in the division where Holloway reigned supreme.
Max Holloway vs. José Aldo 2 – UFC 218: Holloway vs. Aldo 2
Six months after becoming the unquestioned king of the division, Holloway was once again booked in a rematch with Aldo, as fans wanted him to prove that his win in their first encounter wasn’t a fluke.
The pride of Hawaii accepted the challenge and reasserted his mastery over the Brazilian superstar with an identical finish in their championship rematch. Holloway once again stopped Aldo in the third round of their rematch via TKO in December 2017 at UFC 218.
Max Holloway vs. Calvin Kattar – UFC on ABC: Holloway vs. Kattar
In January 2021, after Holloway was defeated twice by Alexander Volkanovski to give up the UFC featherweight title, he was scheduled to meet top contender Calvin Kattar in the main event of UFC on ABC event in Abu Dhabi.
Unfortunately for Kattar, he was the recipient of Holloway’s frustration after he received a beating from him. Holloway also has set the record for the most significant strikes landed in a single fight with 445 to secure the lopsided unanimous decision win.
Max Holloway vs. Chan Sung Jung – UFC Singapore: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie
Among the top featherweight contenders, Chan Sung Jung, aka “The Korean Zombie,” was the only fighter Holloway hadn’t faced yet inside the octagon. That’s why, in August, the promotion finally granted his wish to fight the South Korean star at UFC Singapore.
When the two stars locked horns inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, it was an absolute war, but Holloway took the win with a vicious third-round knockout 23 seconds into the round to pick up his 25th professional victory.
Max Holloway vs. Justin Gaethje – UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill
UFC 300 was arguably the biggest pay-per-view event in the history of the Las Vegas-based promotion, and Holloway was booked to face Justin Gaethje for the BMF title inside the T-Mobile Arena in April.

Heading into the match, fans and pundits counted Holloway out against Gaethje because of the latter’s one-shot knockout power. However, it was a completely different result, as Holloway controlled most of the fight with accurate punches.
It was capped off with a last-second knockout of “The Highlight” in the last round and pulled off one of the craziest knockouts in combat sports history.
