  • Germany is hosting Euro 2024 with 51 games occurring in 10 venues nationwide from June 14 to July 14.

Footy fans worldwide are counting the days before Euro 2024, which kicks off on June 14. Taking place every four years, the inaugural European Championships were held in France in 1960. 

There have been 16 European Championships with Germany and Spain leading the way with three titles. 

Soccer betting odds have England as the +300 favourites, marginally ahead of France, who are the +350 second favourites. 

At +1600, defending champions Italy have the sixth shortest odds to repeat.  

When is Euro 2024?

Euro 2024 starts on June 14 with the final held on July 14. Consisting of 51 matches, hosts Germany kick off proceedings at 3 p.m. ET when they face Scotland at Allianz Arena, home of Bayern Munich. 

The group stage runs from June 14 to June 26. Every team plays three games, facing each other in their respective groups. 

There are two rest days on June 27 and June 28 before the knockout phase begins. Eight Round of 16 matches, two per day, are scheduled from June 29 to July 2. 

Two additional rest days occur after the Round of 16: July 3, and July 4 before the quarterfinals are played. 

The quarterfinals will be played on July 5 and July 6, with two matches played per day. 

July 7 and July 8 are rest days preceding the semifinals, which take place on July 9 and July 10. 

The final will be held on July 14 at 3 p.m. ET at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.

The 2024 tournament marks the third time the event has been held in Germany, but only the second time since the country reunified in 1990. Four matches at Euro 2020, hosted by multiple countries, were played in Munich. 

How Many Countries Can Qualify for Euro 2024?

There are 24 countries participating in Euro 2024 with Georgia serving as the only European Championship debutant. 

The usual suspects top the odds leaderboard as England (+300), France (+350), Germany (+500), Spain (+750), and Portugal (+750) are the front-runners.
