What Are the Best Golf Courses in Alberta, Canada?

1. Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club — Jasper, Alberta

Jasper Park Lodge embodies everything I envision when I picture a golf course in Alberta.

There’s no shortage of picturesque mountain views, tree-lined fairways, and stunningly blue water.

2. Banff Springs Golf Course — Banff, Alberta

Picture the beauty of Banff National Park, just a short drive away, and then imagine what a golf course would look like in that environment.

This Stanley Thompson design is one of Canada’s must-play courses.

3. Calgary Golf & Country Club — Calgary, Alberta

Calgary Golf & Country Club sits on the banks of the Elbow River and is the oldest private golf club in the province.

The course hosted the PGA of Alberta’s Club Professional Championship in 2024, but unfortunately, there were probably no golf betting odds for the event.

4. Blackhawk Golf Club — Spruce Grove, Alberta

Blackhawk is a private club in the Southwest Edmonton suburbs, though it’s only about a 40-minute drive from downtown.

For those lucky enough to get on this links-like layout on the edge of the North Saskatchewan River, it’s worth the trip.

5. Kananaskis Country Golf Course — Kananaskis Village, Alberta

Kananaskis sits right in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, so this public course features tremendous backdrops of Mt. Kidd and other peaks.

Greens fees top out at $184 for 18 holes ($134 for Alberta residents), which feels like a fair price for the views alone.

6. Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club — Canmore, Alberta

If I were creating a golf trip itinerary through the Canadian Rockies, I’d consider pairing Stewart Creek with Kananskis.

This Gary Browning design has been beautifully etched into the natural landscape and is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025.

7. Mickelson National Golf Club — Calgary, Alberta

The private club is the first to carry the name of Phil Mickelson, a stalwart at the top of the PGA Tour odds for three decades before joining the LIV Golf League in 2022.

Located in the Western Calgary suburbs, MNGC boasts a stunning clubhouse and a testing track that features severe slopes, plenty of bunkering, and some water hazards.
