Best Bets on Canadians at the U.S. Open: Conners & Taylor

Four Canadians are appearing in the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. 

None of the four is priced among the golf betting at the BetMGM online sportsbook, but there’s still plenty of intrigue as they prepare for the third major of the year.

Corey Conners

Corey Conners’ odds to win the 2026 U.S. Open are off the board.

Conners hasn’t recorded a top 30 finish since the Valspar Championship in March. Yet to register a top 10 finish in 2026, Conners was tied for ninth at this event two years ago, but he’s been subpar around the greens and with his putter over the last three months. 

Shinnecock demands accurate iron play, which is usually one of Conners’ strengths. He’s lost strokes on approach in three of his last four events, however, and it’s been a while since he showed any reliability on the greens. 

Having only made one cut in six appearances at the U.S. Open, Conners isn’t likely to be in contention. Wider fairways mean Conners’ advantage from being accurate off the tee is reduced. 

I will be fading Conners at +450 to finish in the top 20, given his underwhelming form. He’s a player I’d consider backing to make the cut, though, as he’s historically got the iron play to succeed on this course. 

Nick Taylor

The Memorial Tournament and the Canadian Open weren’t strong showings from Nick Taylor. History at the U.S. Open is positive for Taylor, however, as he’s made the cut on three occasions, including when he tied for 23rd last year. Taylor also finished tied for ninth at the Cadillac Championship and tied for 14th at the Truist Championship. 

Last year, Taylor recorded his best U.S. Open finish. He’s been uncharacteristically inconsistent over the last few events, with his approach play letting him down at June’s first two events. 

The +188 price on Taylor to be the top Canadian is understandable with his history at the U.S. Open. I predict he will make the cut, but there’s a wide range of outcomes with how he’s played over the last few weeks. 

Ben Silverman

Ben Silverman’s odds to win the 2026 U.S. Open are off the board.

A strong showing at BallenIsles Country Club in Florida earned Ben Silverman a spot in this year’s U.S. Open. It marks only his second appearance at a major after failing to make the cut at the 2022 U.S. Open.

Despite a lack of experience at majors and with only a small sample of PGA Tour appearances, Silverman has played some good golf of late, including a 17th-place finish at the 2026 THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson last month. 

Making the cut would be considered a success for Silverman. He’s +1400 to finish in the top 20 and +700 to be the top Canadian. 

Sudarshan Yellamaraju

The low Canadian at the Canadian Open, Sudarshan Yellamaraju, got back on track after a few disappointing events with some superb iron play. That stands him in good stead at Shinnecock. 

The 24-year-old finished fifth at the Players Championship and sixth at the Houston Open. Consistency remains an issue for Yellamaraju, but he’s capable of competing with the world’s best golfers when his irons are dialled in and the putts are falling. 

I predict Yellamaraju will finish in the top 20 (+550) and be the top Canadian (+225). He’s enjoying an impressive rookie year on the PGA Tour and has the game to excel around Shinnecock.
