I predict that Team USA wins this game and covers the spread.

Anthony Edwards led the Americans with 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting off the bench in the win over Puerto Rico.

Joel Embiid added 15 points and two blocks. Kevin Durant scored 11 points. Jayson Tatum put up 10 points and 10 rebounds. 

LeBron James had 10 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and one block. Anthony Davis contributed 10 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.

The Americans generated 30 assists in that game, with nine players dishing out at least two dimes apiece, speaking to the trust this group has in each other.

Bruno Caboclo led Brazil with 33 points on 13-of-19 shooting and 18 rebounds in their win over Japan. 

Vitor Benite dropped 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 5-of-7 from 3-point land. Marcelo Huertas added 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and eight assists. Leo Meindl contributed nine points while shooting 3-of-6 from downtown and eight rebounds.

Team USA coach Steve Kerr will likely throw his best defenders toward Caboclo, which could include some combination of Davis, Bam Adebayo, and Embiid.

Davis and Adebayo, in particular, have given their opponents nearly no space to work on drives to the rim or in the paint, and their length and agility have also helped contest and even block shots on the perimeter.

Caboclo, Benite, Huertas, Meindl, and Gui Santos have all shot at least 40% from 3 during the group stage games.

However, Team USA possesses several elite defenders on the wings in Edwards and Tatum, and Derrick White and Jrue Holiday should pose a ton of problems for Brazil’s guards given their abilities to stay in front of their man, play the passing lanes, and knock the ball loose for some steals.

Captain LeMerica has consistently demonstrated his ability to extend Team USA’s lead at any moment in the game. Whether he’s powering down the lane like a locomotive or making difficult passes look effortless to set up his teammates in their preferred spots, his impact is undeniable even at the age of 39.

We have also yet to see Stephen Curry go off in any of these Olympic games, but I feel an explosion from him coming soon from beyond the arc.

With the Americans understanding their roles and all of this considered, I feel that Team USA covering the spread is the best online sportsbook bet to make.
