She earned the award at 10 for her performance in “Paper Moon” (1973).

In the film, Tatum O’Neal played Addie Loggins, a sharp-witted orphan who teams up with Moses “Moze” Pray, a drifting con man.

“Moze” was portrayed by her real-life father, Ryan O’Neal, and the pair’s natural chemistry is evident throughout the film.

Adrien Brody is the youngest Best Actor Oscar winner.

He received the award at 29, after starring in “The Pianist” (2002).

Brody lost around 30 pounds to look starved, practiced the piano for four hours a day to ensure he had the proper hand movement, gave up his New York City apartment, sold his car, broke up with his girlfriend, cut off his cell phone service, and moved to Europe to live a minimalist lifestyle to prepare for the film properly.

Brody won his second Oscar for his role in “The Brutalist” (2024).

“Paper Moon” director Peter Bogdanovich encouraged Tatum O’Neal to act as naturally as possible, reshooting any take that didn’t feel authentic.
