Who Votes For the Hart Trophy?
Members of the PHWA vote for the league’s MVP at the end of the regular season.

As they don’t have a say in who wins the Hart Trophy, the Ted Lindsay Award is the players’ version of MVP.
Who Votes For the Selke Trophy?
As with most NHL awards, the Frank J. Selke is voted on by members of the PHWA. The Selke Award is awarded to the player who excels in the defensive aspects of the game.
Who Votes For the Lady Byng Trophy?
Members of the PHWA also vote for the Lady Byng Trophy, awarded to the player who displays the best sportsmanship while consistently performing at a high level.
Who Votes For the Conn Smythe Award?
A small list of 18 PHWA members votes on the Conn Smythe, the award given to the most outstanding player in the Stanley Cup Final.
When Are NHL Awards Presented?
Most trophies are handed out at the NHL’s annual award show, which occurs at the end of the Stanley Cup Final. The date for the 2026 show hasn’t been confirmed yet.
