The Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup Final against the Maple Leafs in five games, but lost the only overtime game. 

3. Corey Perry (3 OT Goals)

The Anaheim Ducks won four of five overtime games in the 2016-17 playoffs, with Corey Perry pulling the trigger three times. 

He scored one in each round, two of which came on the road in hostile environments against the Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators. The only overtime winner he scored on home ice in those playoffs was against the Edmonton Oilers in the second round. 

Perry and the Ducks eventually ran out of steam in the Western Conference final, losing in six games to the Predators. 

With five winners in the extra session, Perry is among those with the most overtime goals in NHL playoff history.

2. Matthew Tkachuk (3 OT Goals)

The 2023 playoffs were particularly fruitful for Matthew Tkachuk, who, despite his team being considerable hockey odds underdogs, kicked off his account of clutch goals against the Bruins in Game 5.

That goal extended the series and led to one of the best first-round comebacks in NHL playoff history.

He was the most influential factor in the Panthers sweeping the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference final, scoring the overtime winner in Games 1 and 2. Tkachuk suffered an injury that hindered his production in the Stanley Cup Final, which saw the Vegas Golden Knights win their first Cup. 

Tkachuk’s heroics also helped the Panthers secure a spot on the list of best NHL wild-card teams of all time.

1. Leon Draisaitl (4 OT Goals)

Every time Leon Draisaitl jumped on the ice in overtime, I expected him to score. That’s how his 2025 playoff run went, netting a record-setting four overtime goals.

The Oilers were among the Stanley Cup odds favourites entering the postseason, and their dream, at least temporarily, was kept alive by Draisaitl’s heroics. 

He scored one in the first and second rounds against the Los Angeles Kings and Vegas Golden Knights before netting two in the extra session in the Stanley Cup Final. Draisaitl scored four of the Oilers’ five overtime goals.
