Just under 30% of franchises have never won the Stanley Cup. The pursuit of ultimate glory will never end for the teams on that list, not even after they secure their first championship.

So, which teams don’t have a Stanley Cup banner hanging from the rafters?

Ten franchises haven’t won a Stanley Cup, three of which are Canadian. The Stanley Cup has eluded the Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators, and Winnipeg Jets.

The Canucks lost in the Stanley Cup Final twice (2011, 1994), while the Senators lost their only Stanley Cup Final appearance to the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.

The Jets, who have consistently been among the Stanley Cup odds contenders, are still in search of their first Stanley Cup Final berth.

The Sabres and Canucks, both established in 1970, are the longest-standing non-Stanley Cup teams, while the Jets, formed in 1972, have endured the third-longest span without winning it all.

Which NHL Team Has Gone the Longest Between Winning Stanley Cups?

Toronto Maple Leafs fans won’t love this section or the fact that their team has gone the longest between Stanley Cup triumphs. The Maple Leafs last won the Stanley Cup in 1967.

It’s the longest drought in the NHL, with the Sabres and Canucks second and third on the list, respectively. While an unenviable stat, the Maple Leafs have 13 Cup triumphs to fall back on.

The Maple Leafs have been, for an extended period, among the favourites to end that barren run, according to the hockey odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Which Team Has Won the Most Stanley Cups in NHL History?

The Montreal Canadiens have won the most Stanley Cups by a wide margin. The Les Habitants have 24 Stanley Cups, the most recent in 1993 when they beat the Wayne Gretzky-led Los Angeles Kings in five games.

Which Team Has Lost the Most Stanley Cups?

Boston Bruins fans can be equally thankful and frustrated about their franchise losing the most Stanley Cup Finals. The Bruins have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final 20 times, losing 14.
