The Nashville Predators, once a team mired in bankruptcy and frequently shrouded in dark clouds of relocation rumours, have seen something of a 180-degree turn.

A testament to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman’s insistence on making hockey work in the American South, a big part of the stability that has helped the Predators become one of the league’s model franchises is owner Bill Haslam.

The politician-turned-owner ranks among the richest NHL owners, thanks to various business ventures beyond the rink. His 2022 purchase of the Predators helped spur several successful seasons for both the club and shrewd bettors tracking NHL betting lines.

How Much Is Bill Haslam Worth?

According to Forbes list of billionaires, Haslam is worth an estimated $6 billion as of March 2026.

Since purchasing the Predators in 2022, Haslam’s net worth has nearly tripled, thanks in no small part to the club doubling in value from his purchase price of an estimated $880 million to an estimated $1.6 billion by the end of 2025.

How Did Bill Haslam Make His Money?

Bill Haslam primarily made his fortune as the owner and executive of Pilot Flying J, a chain of truck stops across the United States founded by his father, James Haslam II.

Haslam eventually sold the majority of the company to Berkshire Hathaway between 2017 and 2024 for an estimated value of over $13 billion.

Who Are All the Owners of the Nashville Predators?

In addition to Bill Haslam, who serves as chairman and owner, the Nashville Predators also list a host of other individuals as part owners.

The full list includes Joe Agresti, Lindsey Axel, Thomas and Chris Cigarran, Tim Connelly, David Freeman, Herb Fritch, Bryane Grane, Brent and Scott Jacobs, John McEvoy, Nick Saban, Dewitt Thompson IV & V, John Thompson, W. Brett Wilson, and Warren Woo.
