Stars vs. Jets Predictions & Best Bets for Game 6
To force a Game 7 at Canada Life Centre, the Winnipeg Jets must do something they haven’t all postseason: win on the road.
While that task doesn’t sound overly daunting, Scott Arniel’s squad has struggled mightily on its playoff travels, losing five games by a combined score of 25-8.
Hellebuyck’s play between the pipes has been at the crux of those issues. The Hart Trophy finalist owns a 5.84 GAA and .793 SV% on the road and has been pulled three times.
With that in mind, I’m taking the Stars to win and over 4.5 goals (+115), a wager that would have cashed in Games 1 and 3. I like betting parlays like this to extract extra value from a home favourite with a moneyline price of -150 or greater.
Peter DeBoer’s squad has won five straight games at American Airlines Center and owns a 5-1 home record this postseason. Five of the six contests also featured at least five total goals, with the lone exception being Dallas’ 3-1 victory over Winnipeg in Game 4.
I’m also backing the Jets under 0.5 first-period goals (-110). Winnipeg has scored two first-period goals in its five road playoff games, the same number that Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger has allowed in the opening frame of six home starts.
This bet has cashed in three of the series’ five games, including Winnipeg’s 4-0 victory on Thursday night.
