NHL Players With Most 100-Point Seasons

Wayne Gretzky stands alone as the player with the most 100-point NHL seasons. It’s one of those records that was perceived as untouchable until Connor McDavid came along. 

The Oilers captain has a chance to break the Great One’s all-time mark if he can sustain his current trajectory into his mid-30s. 

Here are the players with the most 100-point NHL seasons.

Which Players Have the Most 100-Point NHL Seasons?

T-5. Mike Bossy (7 100-Point Seasons)

Mike Bossy played 10 NHL seasons, scoring at least 100 points seven times. He eclipsed 90 points in two of the other three. 

He scored 91 points in his rookie season before notching 126 in his sophomore campaign. From 1980 to 1986, Bossy had six straight seasons with at least 110 points. 

His best season was in 1981-82, when he tallied 147 points (64 goals, 83 assists). Bossy scored at least 50 goals in nine of 10 seasons, arguably a more impressive accomplishment.  

T-5. Peter Stastny (7 100-Point Seasons)

Peter Stastny enjoyed a prolific start to his NHL career, scoring at least 100 points in the first five seasons. He tallied 109 points in his first season, the third-most among rookies. 

He only eclipsed the 100-point mark in one of his last nine seasons, including none in the final six. Over 15 NHL seasons, Stastny never reached 50 goals, scoring his most (47) in 1982-83. 

4. Marcel Dionne (8 100-Point Seasons)

Marcel Dionne’s longevity was something to marvel at, as he played in the NHL for 18 years. He didn’t score 100 points until his fourth season, when he tallied 121 in 80 games for the Detroit Red Wings. 

Dionne scored at least 100 points five seasons in a row from 1978 to 1983, during which he had his career-best campaign, notching 137 points (53 goals, 84 assists) in 1979-80 with the Los Angeles Kings. 

He had six 50-goal campaigns, scoring the most in 1978-79 (59). 

3. Connor McDavid (9 100-Point Seasons)

No player impacts a team’s Stanley Cup odds at the BetMGM sportsbook like Connor McDavid does for the Edmonton Oilers. 

He scored at least 100 points in nine of 11 seasons, with injuries the only reason he didn’t make it a perfect 11-for-11. 

Despite being almost a sure thing to score 100 points, he has only once reached the 50-goal plateau. That occurred in 2022-23, when he scored 64 to win the Rocket Richard Trophy.

2. Mario Lemieux (10 100-Point Seasons)

Had he remained healthy, Mario Lemieux would have challenged, possibly surpassed Wayne Gretzky’s 15 100-point seasons. Unfortunately, Lemieux was plagued by back problems and also had to overcome Hodgkin lymphoma.

He started his career with six straight 100-point seasons, notching a career-best 199 during that streak. 

Due to a limited number of games, he only eclipsed the mark twice in his final seven seasons. 

1. Wayne Gretzky (15 100-Point Seasons)

Remarkably, Gretzky registered at least 100 points in his first 13 NHL seasons, a record that may never be broken. 

He surpassed 200 points four times, another almost-impossible-to-beat record. He finished his career with one 100-point season in the last five. Gretzky scored at least 50 goals in nine of his 20 NHL seasons.
