Most Consecutive Stanley Cup Final Games With a Goal

The latest player to join the exclusive club changed the Stanley Cup odds at the BetMGM sportsbook in 2026 and eventually won the Conn Smythe Trophy, along with his second championship.  

Who Scored In Most Consecutive Stanley Cup Final Games? 

Only five players have scored at least one goal in five straight Stanley Cup Final games, the most recent of which was Jordan Staal for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2026. 

Three of those five players accomplished the record with the Montreal Canadiens. 

Maurice Richard (Montreal Canadiens, 1951)

Maurice Richard scored a goal in all five of the 1951 Stanley Cup Final games in a losing cause, as the Toronto Maple Leafs won the series 4-1. 

Richard is also among the Canadiens with the most game-winning goals in one playoff. 

Yvan Cournoyer (Montreal Canadiens, 1973)

Cournoyer scored six goals in Games 2 through 6 to help the Canadiens beat the Chicago Blackhawks in six games. 

He didn’t score in Game 1, but made up for it in Game 2, lighting the lamp twice. He scored a goal in each of the last four games, including the Game 6 game-winning goal. 

Cournoyer is also among the Canadiens with the most game-winning goals in the playoffs. 

Jordan Staal (Carolina Hurricanes, 2026)

The 37-year-old tied his previous best mark of scoring in five straight. The only other time he achieved it was in the 2007 regular season as an 18-year-old with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Staal scored his eighth goal of the playoffs in Game 5, his sixth of the Stanley Cup Final. He eclipsed his previous best of six goals in the playoffs, which he accomplished twice.

Jean Béliveau (Montreal Canadiens, 1956)

Jean Béliveau scored seven goals in five games during the 1956 Stanley Cup Final. He netted two in Game 1 and two in Game 5, scoring one each in the other three contests.

Béliveau was the most instrumental player in the Canadiens’ Cup win over the Detroit Red Wings, and it was the start of five straight championships. 

He was also among those with the most playoff games for the Canadiens. 

Cyclone Taylor (Vancouver Millionaires, 1918)

Cyclone by name, cyclone by nature. 

The Vancouver Millionaires’ Cyclone Taylor scored nine goals during the five-game final against the Toronto Hockey Club. Despite his offensive explosion, the Millionaires lost the series 3-2.
