- The Edmonton Oilers are -160 home favourites in Game 6 at Rogers Place.
- After winning the last three games, Edmonton has -400 odds to win the series.
- The Los Angeles Kings are +310 underdogs to reach Round 2.
The Edmonton Oilers moved within a game of eliminating the Los Angeles Kings in Round 1 for the fourth straight postseason with a 3-1 Game 5 road victory on Tuesday night.
Los Angeles scored first for the fourth time in the series, but the Oilers responded with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 series lead.
Before the defending Western Conference champions try to close out the series Thursday night on home ice, I’ll assess the latest NHL odds and make my Game 6 best bets.

Kings vs. Oilers Series Winner Odds
After taking home-ice advantage from the higher-seeded Kings, the Oilers’ odds to win the series shortened from -115 to -400 at the BetMGM sportsbook. That price gives Edmonton an 80% chance of reaching Round 2 for the fourth consecutive campaign.
Meanwhile, LA’s odds lengthened from -105 to +310, implying a 24.4% chance of winning Games 6 and 7.
Kings series winner odds: +310

Kings vs. Oilers Predictions & Best Bets for Game 6
Before I pick out my best Kings vs. Oilers hockey bets for Game 6, I want to thank Los Angeles netminder Darcy Kuemper for saving my bacon on Tuesday night.
While his Kings couldn’t defend home ice as I predicted, his heroics between the pipes helped cash the under 6.5 total goals (-120) and under 1.5 first-period goals (+100) despite an Edmonton onslaught.
The Oilers outshot the Kings 46-22, creating 6.47 expected goals to LA’s 2.02 in Game 5, according to MoneyPuck. Without the Vezina Trophy finalist in net, the scoreline would’ve looked much worse for the hosts.
In Thursday’s Game 6, Edmonton can close out the series at home, a feat it accomplished against Los Angeles in two of the last three seasons. I expect Kris Knoblauch’s squad to get the job done, especially since the Kings struggled on their travels during the regular season (17-19-5) and dropped Games 3 and 4 at Rogers Place.
The hosts’ moneyline price is a little too short for my liking, so instead I’ll back a parlay of the Oilers to win and over 4.5 goals (+100). Connor McDavid and Co. created several scoring opportunities in Game 5, and while that contest somehow stayed under 4.5 goals, the previous four games of the series soared well over.
I think Game 6 reverts to those high-scoring environments, so I also like Over 6 total goals (-110), a prop that has hit in eight of the last 10 playoff meetings between these Pacific Division rivals.
