Sixteen years ago this month, Ducks legends Teemu Selanne and JS Giguere made team history on the same night.

His passion and leadership were instrumental in leading the Ducks to their Stanley Cup in 2007 and made Selänne a fan favourite in Anaheim. Selänne retired as the Ducks’ career leader in games played (966), assists (531), and points (988), and remains Anaheim’s top scorer with 457 goals.
2. Paul Kariya
Paul Kariya’s time in Anaheim was defined by his exceptional speed, skill, and leadership. As one of the franchise’s first faces, Kariya’s ability to change the game in an instant defined the Ducks’ early years. He was one of the most electrifying offensive forces in the NHL during the early 2000s.
His synergy on the ice with Selänne created one of the most dynamic duos in hockey history. Kariya sits third in goals (300), and fourth in points (669) in Ducks history. He remains Anaheim’s career leader in points per game (1.10).
3. Scott Niedermayer
Though his time in Anaheim was short, Scott Niedermayer brought a winning pedigree to the Ducks. His extraordinary poise, leadership, and mastery of the ice were key in the Ducks 2007 Stanley Cup victory.
Niedermayer won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of that Cup run, solidifying his impact on the franchise’s success.
4. Ryan Getzlaf
The long-standing captain of the Ducks, Ryan Getzlaf’s playmaking ability and physical presence defined an era of hockey in Anaheim. Getzlaf’s vision on the ice and knack for delivering in key moments made him one of the most respected players in Ducks history.
Getzlaf captained the Ducks for 11 seasons, leading the team to five consecutive division titles from 2013 to 2017. “Captain Clutch” remains Anaheim’s career leader in games played (1,157), assists (737), and points (1,019).
5. Jean-Sebastien Giguere
Jean-Sébastien Giguère’s heroics in goal during the 2003 playoffs, where he was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy in a losing effort, endeared him to Ducks fans forever.
Giguère’s consistency and awe-inspiring saves made him the winningest goalie in Ducks history with 206 victories. He won 13 games with a 1.97 goals-against average en route to the 2007 Stanley Cup championship.
