The Buffalo Bills have been one of the league’s top teams for the last handful of seasons, but they continue to fall short of overcoming their NFL future odds to win the Super Bowl.

To finally get over the hump this year, Buffalo’s defensive coordinator must help his unit take a step forward and become one of the league’s elite.

Who Is the Buffalo Bills Defensive Coordinator?

The Buffalo Bills’ defensive coordinator is Bobby Babich.

Babich is entering his ninth season with the Bills, and his second as the team’s defensive coordinator.

The 42-year-old has worked his way up the totem pole on head coach Sean McDermott’s staff, serving as assistant defensive backs coach, safeties coach, and linebackers coach before being promoted to DC in January 2024.

In Babich’s first season calling the defense, the Bills finished 11th in scoring defense (21.6 points allowed per game) and 17th in total yards allowed per game (341.5).

His father, Bob Babich, spent nearly four decades coaching football at the collegiate and NFL levels. The pair spent five seasons together with the Bills, with the elder Babich retiring after the 2021 campaign.
