Texans vs. Seahawks Predictions, Odds, & Best Bets: Week 7, MNF

NFL OddsLive Betting
  • The Seahawks are 3-point home favourites. The total is 41 points.
  • The Texans allow a league-low 12.2 points per game.
  • The Seahawks are fifth in the NFL in scoring, averaging 27.7 points per game.

In the second of two Monday Night Football games in Week 7, we have the Seattle Seahawks at home taking on the Houston Texans.

The NFL odds in this matchup favour the Seahawks, but the Texans are not only coming off a bye, but in Week 5, they scored the most points they have in the C.J. Stroud era, beating the Baltimore Ravens 44-10.

Below, I’ll provide a prediction for this game using odds from the BetMGM sportsbook, where football online betting is available.

Texans vs. Seahawks Odds

  • Texans spread: +3 (-102)
  • Seahawks spread: -3 (-118)
  • Texans moneyline: +145
  • Seahawks moneyline: -175
  • Total: 41 (-105/-115)

Texans vs. Seahawks Predictions & Best Bets

We have quite an intriguing matchup to close out Week 7.

Seattle has shown that it has one of the best offences in the league, averaging 27.7 points (fifth) and 252.2 passing yards (fourth) per game.

While the Seahawks have these excellent numbers on offence, the Texans are even better on defence. They’re allowing just 12.2 points (fewest), 90.6 rushing yards (seventh-fewest), and 175.2 passing yards (fifth-fewest) per game.

This is a true clash of good defence versus good offence, but two factors ultimately decided my prediction.

First, the Seahawks rank second in pressures with 99. When pressured, Stroud has completed just 59.5% of his passes for 216 yards (5.1 yards per attempt), no touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Additionally, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will face a Texans defence that runs Cover-3 more than anything else. Against it, Darnold has completed 66.1% of his passes for 492 yards (8.3 yards per attempt), three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

Give me the Seahawks at home.
