Steelers vs. Bengals Predictions & Best Bets

In his first start as a member of the Bengals, quarterback Joe Flacco went into Green Bay and lost, but the team put up 18 points in a hostile environment.

Flacco was serviceable, completing 29 of 45 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He found wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase 10 times for 94 yards and a score.

Unfortunately, the running game, led by Chase Brown, didn’t get going, but he took on a Packers defence that allows a league-low 73 rushing yards per game.

Now, as 5.5-point underdogs, they host the 4-1 Steelers.

Despite their 4-1 record, the Steelers’ offence hasn’t been overly threatening, averaging 23.8 points (14th in the NFL), 84 rushing yards (29th), and 193.8 passing yards (25th) per game.

While I do expect the Steelers’ offence to outperform some of those averages against a terrible Bengals defence, the Steelers also have some defensive deficiencies, allowing 245 passing yards (27th) and 110.6 rushing yards (16th) per game.

Look for Flacco to once again be serviceable against a team he has 22 career starts against, and for the Bengals’ running game to be better than last week.

My final prediction is the Steelers win, but the Bengals cover at +5.5 with a final score of 24-20.
