Drafted 33rd overall in the 2024 NFL draft, Keon Coleman has had a difficult start to his NFL career. Initially selected to be a go-to receiver for Josh Allen, Coleman’s role and usage with the Buffalo Bills have often been scrutinised.

With Sean McDermott fired and Joe Brady in his place, Coleman has been at the centre of trade rumours throughout the offseason.

What Is Keon Coleman’s Trade Value?

Coleman’s trade value is low after underperforming in the 2024 and 2025 NFL seasons. He has also had some disciplinary issues for arriving late to team commitments.

It is very unlikely the Bills will trade Coleman when his value is so low, but teams were showing interest in Coleman as a buy-low trade target before the draft. A Day 3 pick is the best Buffalo could have hoped for in a potential deal.

Instead, the Bills are trying to rebuild Coleman’s trade value under a new head coach. If he gets anywhere near his potential, Coleman could be a major factor to consider when creating NFL parlays in the 2026 season.

What Did Brandon Beane Say About Keon Coleman?

Brandon Beane has been working hard to build bridges with Coleman after team owner Terry Pegula said the decision to draft Coleman came from McDermott rather than Beane.

Following the 2026 draft, Beane said, “We had some people connect with us in Indy, at least one team there, and a couple between there and the owners’ meetings. But we shut those down.

“Our intention is for Keon to be here, and so I think the word was kind of out. So, no calls this weekend. We’ve hit the reset button with him, and hopefully the fan base and everyone’s behind him. I think his best year is yet to come here in 2026.”

Coleman has been involved in voluntary workouts with the Bills this offseason. The messaging from Buffalo has been clear — they believe in Coleman and expect him to play a larger role in the offense in 2026 than he did in 2025.

What Did Joe Brady Say About Keon Coleman?

Brady has been a vocal supporter of Coleman.

Before the draft, Brady said, “I told Keon, ‘Just take advantage of this offseason, man. Getting the connection with Josh and working.’ And he came back, you forget how big he is, man. And really excited. He’s put a lot of work in.”

This is part of a longer trend in which Brady is clearly trying to build Coleman’s confidence.

Back in January, the Bills’ new head coach said, “Keon Coleman is going to be a Buffalo Bill.”

“I told Keon when I got hired, the best thing that happened to Keon Coleman was me being his head coach. I was one of the ones that stood on the table for Keon Coleman, and I believe in Keon Coleman.”

The trade for DJ Moore and the selection of Skyler Bell take some of the pressure off Coleman, though it’s clear the former second-round pick is a major part of Brady’s offensive game plan.

Did Josh Allen Want Keon Coleman?

Yes, Allen wanted the Bills to draft Coleman.

Before the 2024 draft, Allen sent Coleman a text which said, “You’re the guy that I want. I watched a lot of receivers, and I want to play with you.”

Coleman was equally keen to play with a perennial football betting favourite for NFL MVP.

Despite Coleman’s struggles in his first two seasons in the NFL, Allen has remained highly supportive.

In January, Allen said, “I’m not going to give up on [Coleman]. He’s got too much ability, and I will not give up on him. We’re going to work tirelessly, him and me, and so will everybody else in this building, to make sure that whenever we step foot on the field, that we’re going to find ways to win football games. And he’s going to be part of that.”
