Despite trading for DJ Moore and acquiring several veterans in free agency, there are plenty of needs for the Buffalo Bills heading into the 2026 NFL Draft.

Buffalo is among the online sports betting favourites to represent the AFC in next year’s Super Bowl in the latest NFL odds, but this roster is far from perfect.

Moore, Bradley Chubb, and Dee Alford need to be accompanied by smart draft picks if Buffalo is to finally get over the hump in 2027.

Bills’ Biggest Needs to Address in 2026 NFL Draft

Linebacker

After signing two interior offensive linemen in Austin Corbett and Lloyd Cushenberry, linebacker is clearly the Bills’ biggest need heading into the NFL Draft.

Buffalo has favoured using its first pick on front-seven players during the Brandon Beane era. A switch from 4-3 to 3-4 under Jim Leonhard changes the demands on the linebackers. After failing to add any linebacker depth in free agency, this has to be the top priority on draft weekend.

It doesn’t have to be a first-round pick to get a starting-calibre talent. Buffalo could look to trade back into the early second round to acquire an asset to compensate for the Moore trade. CJ Allen, Zion Young, and Anthony Hill Jr. are potential fits.

Defensive Line

Depth isn’t a problem at defensive end in Leonhard’s 3-4 system, but Buffalo could do with an upgrade at nose. Kayden McDonald is the standout fit, and he’ll be a difficult player to overlook if he’s still on the board at 26.

Trading into the second round could be a viable option for Lee Hunter or Christen Miller.

A defensive tackle will be selected at some point. It’s just a question of whether Buffalo uses its first-round pick on a DT or holds off until the third or fourth rounds.

Wide Receiver

Even after acquiring Moore for a second-round pick in this year’s draft, it’s not out of the question that Buffalo selects a wide receiver in the third or fourth round.

Josh Allen, a perennial football betting favourite for NFL MVP, needs a significant upgrade in the receiving talent at his disposal, with Moore joined by Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Joshua Palmer as it stands.

It would be a mistake for the Bills to use their first on a wide receiver with the issues they have on defence, but a developmental prospect like Jeff Caldwell could be intriguing if the Cincinnati receiver falls to 126.
