While the Seattle Seahawks historically haven’t had a lot of success at the quarterback position, there are two who stand out: a third-round pick from the 2012 NFL Draft and a massive signing ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Those two signal-callers not only brought Super Bowl titles to Seattle but were also instrumental in shaping the team’s NFL odds, making them prominent football betting options at places like the BetMGM online sportsbook.
Below, I’ll rank my top eight Seahawks quarterbacks.

1. Russell Wilson
Wilson was drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft and earned the starting job as a rookie.
He played for the Seahawks from 2012 to 2021.
Over that time, he won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, was a second-team All-Pro, made nine Pro Bowls, led the NFL in passer rating (2015), and in passing touchdowns (2017).
Wilson led the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl victory, beating the Denver Broncos 43-8 at Super Bowl 48.
He also led them to a Super Bowl 49 appearance, but lost to the New England Patriots.
During his time with the Seahawks, he threw for 37,059 yards, 292 touchdowns, and 87 interceptions.
No other quarterback in Seahawks history has broken 30,000 passing yards or 200 touchdown passes.
Wilson was also a fantastic runner, rushing 846 times for 4,689 yards and 23 touchdowns.
His 4,689 yards are fifth in Seahawks history, and the touchdowns are inside the top eight.
2. Sam Darnold
Fresh off a great statistical season in 2024-25 with the Minnesota Vikings, the Seahawks signed Darnold to a three-year deal worth roughly $100 million.
In 2025-26, his first season with the team, the Seahawks went 14-3 and earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC. He threw for 4,048 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.
The season resulted in Darnold being named to the Pro Bowl and the Seahawks winning Super Bowl 60, defeating the New England Patriots, 29-13.
In the win, Darnold threw for 202 yards and a touchdown.
3. Matt Hasselbeck
Hasselbeck signed with the Seahawks in 2001 and was there until 2010.
While there, he started 131 games and went 69-62. He threw for 29,434 yards, 174 touchdowns, and 128 interceptions.
Among all Seahawks quarterbacks, Hasselbeck ranks second in pass attempts (4,250) and passing yards. He’s third in passing touchdowns.
He went to three Pro Bowls and is a member of the Seahawks’ 35th Anniversary team.
Hasselbeck also led the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl appearance at Super Bowl 40. However, the Seahawks lost 21-10 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
4. Dave Krieg
Krieg played quarterback for the Seahawks from 1980 to 1991.
Over that time, he attempted 3,576 passes (third in Seahawks history), threw for 26,132 yards (third), and 195 touchdowns (second).
He went to three Pro Bowls and led the NFL in completion percentage in 1991.
A member of the Seahawks’ Ring of Honour, Krieg went 3-4 in the postseason with the Seahawks.
5. Jim Zorn
Zorn was the Seahawks quarterback from 1976 to 1984. He threw for 20,122 yards (fourth) and 107 touchdowns (fourth).
He added 308 carries for 1,491 yards and 17 rushing scores.
Zorn was a second-team All-Pro in 1978. Two years before that, in 1976, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie squad.
He’s enshrined in the Seahawks’ Ring of Honour.
6. Geno Smith
Smith had a shorter stint with the Seahawks. It lasted from 2019 to 2024, but he didn’t take over as the starter until 2022.
During that time, he was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year (2022), went to two Pro Bowls, and led the NFL in completion percentage.
With Seattle, Smith started 52 games and went 28-24. He completed 68.5% of his passes (first among all Seahawks quarterbacks with more than 18 pass attempts) for 12,961 yards (fifth) and 76 touchdowns (fifth).
Smith is also the Seahawks’ all-time leader in yards per game with 240.
7. Jon Kitna
Kitna was the Seahawks signal-caller from 1997 to 2000. Over that time, he appeared in 39 games and went 18-15 as a starter. He threw for 7,552 yards (seventh) and 49 touchdowns (sixth).
He appeared in one playoff game for Seattle, losing to the Miami Dolphins 20-17 after completing 14 of 30 passes for 162 yards, one touchdown, and two picks.
8. Rick Mirer
Mirer was with Seattle just before Kitna, playing from 1993 to 1996. He went 20-31 as a starter and completed just 53.4% of his passes. He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 1993 NFL Draft by Seattle.
