The Seattle Seahawks have recently become one of the top teams among NFL futures odds and are consistently favoured when viewing their football odds at online sports betting sites like BetMGM.
A big part of that now and over the years has been their defensive backs, including many in the 2010s.
Below, I’ll rank the seven best defensive backs in Seahawks history.
Greatest Seattle Seahawks Defensive Backs
7. Devon Witherspoon
Witherspoon is still an active NFL player for the Seahawks after being drafted No. 5 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Still, in that short time, he’s won a Super Bowl, was a second-team All-Pro, has been to the Pro Bowl every year of his career, and was a part of the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2023.
6. Dave Brown
After spending one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Seahawks picked up Brown in the expansion draft in the spring of 1976.
While with the Seahawks, he was a two-time second-team All-Pro, went to the Pro Bowl, and is in the Seahawks’ Ring of Honour.
5. Marcus Trufant
After going No. 11 overall in the 2003 NFL Draft, Trufant spent more than a decade with the Seahawks.
He went to the Pro Bowl in 2007, was named to the PFWA All-Rookie squad, and the Seahawks’ 35th Anniversary squad.
Trufant finished his career with 21 interceptions, two pick-sixes, 112 passes defended, five forced fumbles, and 646 combined tackles.
4. Kam Chancellor
Chancellor spent nine seasons in Seattle, where he not only won a Super Bowl but was a two-time second-team All-Pro and made four Pro Bowls.
He had 12 interceptions, 44 passes defended, nine forced fumbles, two sacks, and 607 combined tackles.
3. Earl Thomas
Thomas spent nine seasons with the Seahawks, during which he won a Super Bowl, was a three-time first-team All-Pro and a two-time second-team All-Pro, went to six Pro Bowls, and was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade squad.
He recorded 28 interceptions, two pick-sixes, defended 67 passes, recorded 10 forced fumbles, and had 664 combined tackles.
2. Richard Sherman
Sherman was taken No. 154 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, and he dominated during his time with the Seahawks.
He was part of the Super Bowl 48-winning squad, was a three-time first-team All-Pro, a second-team All-Pro, went to four Pro Bowls, and led the NFL in interceptions in 2013.
Sherman is second among all Seahawks cornerbacks in interceptions with 32, which is also tied for fourth among all players in Seahawks history.
1. Kenny Easley
Easley spent his entire, albeit shorter, career with the Seahawks from 1981 to 1987.
During that time, he was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, a four-time first-team All-Pro, a second-team All-Pro, a five-time Pro Bowler, and the NFL interception leader in 1984.
Across seven seasons, he recorded 32 interceptions, three pick-sixes, nine forced fumbles, and eight sacks.
