Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs played a massive role in helping take the team from the bottom of NFL futures odds to one of the most often favoured teams when examining NFL spreads at sites like the BetMGM online sportsbook.
With that said, below, I’ll rank the seven best receivers in Bills history.
Greatest Buffalo Bills Wide Receivers
7. Bob Chandler
Chandler spent almost his entire career in Buffalo, catching 295 passes (10th in franchise history) for 3,999 yards (ninth), and 34 touchdowns (sixth) from 1971 to 1979.
His performances earned him second-team All-Pro honours twice.
6. Jerry Butler
Butler played his entire career with the Bills from 1979 to 1986.
He was a Pro Bowler in 1980, and in 1979 was a member of the PFWA All-Rookie team, was the Sporting News AFC Rookie of the Year, and the UPI AFC Rookie of the Year.
He caught 278 passes (13th) for 4,301 yards (eighth) and 29 touchdowns (seventh).
5. Elbert Dubenion
Dubenion was with the Bills from 1960 to 1968, and while with the team, he was a part of two AFL championship teams, was a two-time second-team All-AFL and AFL All-Star, and is a member of the Bills’ Wall of Fame.
Dubenion caught 294 passes (11th) for 5,294 yards (fifth) and 35 touchdowns (fifth).
4. Lee Evans
Evans was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Bills, and he was with them through 2010.
He caught 377 passes (fifth) for 5,934 yards (third), and 43 touchdowns (third).
3. Stefon Diggs
After coming over from the Minnesota Vikings, Diggs was instrumental in the development of quarterback Josh Allen.
He was with Buffalo from 2020 to 2023, and while it was a shorter time than others on this list, he left a major mark.
He was a first-team All-Pro, a second-team All-Pro, went to four Pro Bowls, and led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards.
He caught 445 passes (fourth) for 5,372 yards (fourth) and 37 touchdowns (fourth).
2. Eric Moulds
Moulds played for the Bills from 1996 to 2005 and was a two-time second-team All-Pro, a three-time Pro Bowler, and a member of the 1996 PFWA All-Rookie team.
He caught 675 passes for 9,096 yards and 48 touchdowns. These are all second among all pass catchers in Bills history.
1. Andre Reed
And of course, at No. 1 on this list is Reed.
He was with the Bills from 1985 to 1999 and was sensational.
Reed was a two-time second-team All-Pro, went to seven Pro Bowls, and is a member of the Bills’ Wall of Fame and 50th anniversary team.
He finished his time with them catching 941 passes for 13,095 yards and 86 touchdowns, which, of course, are all Bills records.
Reed is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
