  • The NFL will play Saturday games from Weeks 16 to 18 and during the playoffs.
  • In 2024, the NFL will play two games on Wednesday and two on Friday.
  • The Frankford Yellow Jackets hold the NFL record for most wins on a Saturday with 48.

The NFL is mostly known for playing on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays, but there have been occasions when they have played on other nights, like Saturday.

Saturday is a great time for NFL betting. BetMGM offers online sports betting during those games, typically later in the season and during the playoffs.

In 2023, there were Saturday games during Weeks 15, 16, 17, and 18. Additionally, there were two wild-card round matchups and two in the divisional round.

For the 2024 season, you can expect more of the same but slightly fewer games. In all, six games will be played on Saturday between Weeks 16 and 18, three in the wild-card round and two in the divisional round.

The fewer games are likely a result of the various other days games are played this season, including Wednesday (two games) and Friday (two games).

Saturday games for the NFL are nothing new, though. There have been NFL games played on Saturday in the NFL since 1952.

In 1972, the format changed to Saturday games only being played during December and January due to college football primarily being played on Saturdays.

The Frankford Yellow Jackets, an NFL team from 1924 to 1931, have the most Saturday wins with 48 (48-17-9) in league history. The Pittsburgh Steelers are behind them with 29.
