Troy Trojans All-Time Greatest Basketball Players

1. Wesley Person Jr.

Person Jr. played for Troy from 2014 to 2018, and during that time, he scored 2,063 points, the most in Troy history. 

He averaged 15.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. 

Person Jr. was Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, Sun Belt Tournament MVP, second-team All-Sun Belt, and third-team All-Sun Belt. 

2. Jordon Varnado

Varnado was first-team All-Sun Belt, second-team All-Sun Belt, and part of the Sun Belt All-Tournament team while playing for the program from 2015 to 2019. 

He had 1,917 points (second), 818 rebounds (fifth), and 147 blocks (second). 

Varnado averaged 16.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. 

3. Anthony Reed

Reed played for Troy from 1986 to 1990, racking up 1,865 points (third), 913 rebounds (third), and 149 steals (seventh).

He was there during the Division II days and was a first-team All-American. 

4. Marvin Sales

Sales was at Troy from 1974 to 1978. He had 1,704 points (sixth) and 1,318 rebounds (first).

He was the Gulf South Freshman MVP and Gulf South MVP. 

5. Carl Hollis

Hollis played for Troy from 1973 to 1977, scoring 1,747 points (fifth) and bringing in 1,124 rebounds (second). 

He held the scoring record for seven years.

He’s also the program’s all-time leader in field goals made with 789. 

Hollis was a two-time All-America honourable mention and the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year. 

Hollis is enshrined in the Troy Hall of Fame.
