Grand Canyon Antelopes All-Time Greatest Basketball Players
1. Bayard Forrest
Forrest played for Grand Canyon from 1972 to 1976 and is the program’s all-time scoring leader with 2,195 points.
He was an NAIA champion with them in 1975 and was the NAIA MVP that year.
He had 16 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks in the championship.
Additionally, he was a three-time first-team NAIA All-American.
Over his career, he averaged 18.0 points and 12.7 rebounds.
2. Joshua Braun
Braun was at Grand Canyon from 2014 to 2018 and averaged 14.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.
He was a two-time first-team All-WAC, second-team All-WAC, and was part of the WAC All-Newcomer team.
Braun finished his career with 1,714 points (second).
3. Alessandro Lever
Lever played alongside Braun in Braun’s final season and continued there until 2021.
He was a two-time first-team All-WAC and second-team All-WAC, and he was the WAC Freshman of the Year.
Lever averaged 13.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
He’s third in Antelopes history in scoring (1,629).
4. DeWayne Russell
Russell was first-team All-WAC, second-team All-WAC, and a member of the WAC All-Newcomer squad while he was with Grand Canyon from 2014 to 2017. He transferred in from Northern Arizona.
At Grand Canyon, he averaged 21.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game as a senior.
He ranks third in assists (423).
5. Killian Larson
After playing multiple years at Dominican University, Larson logged just one season with Grand Canyon.
He was there for the 2013-14 campaign.
He averaged 17.2 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.
Larson ranks fifth in the single-season Antelopes record books with 348.
