That’s right, a guy named George is the best George Mason player ever.

Accolades-wise, no one in program history is more decorated than him.

He’s a three-time CAA Player of the Year, two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year, three-time CAA All-Defensive Team, three-time first-team All-CAA, second-team All-CAA, and was the CAA Rookie of the Year.

Evans is just one of four players in college basketball history to record more than 200 steals, blocks, and assists in a career.

Evans played for George Mason from 1997 to 2001.

2. Will Thomas

Thomas played at George Mason from 2004 to 2008, where he was first-team All-CAA and second-team All-CAA and was a member of the CAA All-Defensive Team for three straight seasons.

He finished as the runner-up for the CAA Player of the Year and the CAA Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

During his senior year, he averaged 16.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

When George Mason had their Final Four run, Thomas had double-digit points in all but one game and double-digit rebounds in all but two games.

He scored 1,5643 points (10th) and snagged 993 rebounds (third).

3. Kenny Sanders

Suiting up for the Patriots from 1985 to 1989, Sanders had 2,177 points (second) and had 1,026 rebounds (second).

He had 19 rebounds or more in four games, including two during the 1988-89 season.

Across his four seasons, he averaged 20.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

He was the CAA Player of the Year, three-time first-team All-CAA, and CAA Rookie of the Year.

4. Carlos Yates

Before Sanders, there was Yates who played with the school from 1981 to 1985. He averaged 22.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game across 109 games and 80 starts.

He was the CAA co-Player of the Year and was first-team All-CAA three times.

Yates scored 2,420 points, which is still a school record.

His 42 points against Navy during the 1984-85 season is also a single-game record.

5. Ryan Pearson

Pearson dawned the gold and green from 2008 to 2012 and had 1,626 points (sixth) and had 806 rebounds (eighth).

Across 129 games and 94 starts, Pearson averaged 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and one steal per game.

His best season came as a senior when he averaged 17 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
