Florida Gators All-Time Greatest Basketball Players

1. Joakim Noah

Noah played at Florida from 2004 to 2007 and was the centrepiece of their back-to-back title runs in 2006 and 2007.

While at Florida, he won those two titles, was the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, and was a consensus second-team All-American.

In the 2006 title game, he recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, and blocked six shots.

An excellent defender, Noah averaged 10.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game.

His 186 blocks are fifth in Florida history.

2. Al Horford

Alongside Noah at Florida was a fellow big man in Al Hoford.

He was part of the 2006 and 2007 championship squads. He was also named a second-team All-American, third-team All-American, and SEC tournament MVP.

He averaged 10.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game.

Horford recorded 189 blocks (fourth) and 869 rebounds (tied for sixth).

3. Neal Walk

Rewinding the clock, we cannot forget about Walk.

He played for Florida from 1966 to 1969, where he was a second-team All-American, two-time third-team All-American by the NABC and UPI, and third-team All-American by the Associated Press. He was the NCAA rebounding leader in 1968, and the Gators have retired his No. 41.

He averaged 20.8 points and 15.3 rebounds per game across his three seasons.

His 1,181 rebounds remain a program record to this day.

4. Bradley Beal

Beal was one-and-done at Florida, playing there in the 2011-12 season.

He was first-team All-SEC, averaging 14.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game.

Beal was the catalyst behind Florida’s Elite Eight run that season.

In addition to being first-team All-SEC, he was part of the SEC All-Freshman team and received five SEC Freshman of the Week nods.

5. Corey Brewer

Coming in at No. 5 is another player from the Gators back-to-back championship squads in Brewer.

He played at Florida from 2004 to 2007 and was the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player in 2007.

Across his three seasons in Gainesville, he averaged 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game.

Over his career, he recorded 176 steals, seventh in program history.

In the 2006-07 season, he had 69 steals, which ranks second in the school’s single-season record books.

6. Udonis Haslem

Haslem suited up for the Gators just before their dominant run in the mid-2000s, playing there from 1998 to 2002.

He was second-team All-American, third-team All-American, two-time first-team All-SEC, and two-time third-team All-SEC.

Across his four seasons at Florida, he averaged 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game.

He scored 1,781 points (fourth) and had 120 blocks (10th).

Haslem was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.

7. Chandler Parsons

While Haslem played just before the Gators dominance, Parsons came in directly after, playing from 2007 to 2011.

He was AP honourable mention All-American, the SEC Player of the Year, and first-team All-SEC in 2011.

That season, he averaged 11.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game.

He led the Gators to the best regular-season record in the SEC and to the Elite Eight, where they lost to Butler.
