  • The Charlotte Bobcats finished an NBA-worst 7-59 during the 2011-12 lockout season.
  • The 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers won just nine of their 82 games.
  • The 2009-10 New Jersey Nets were the first team to start a season 0-18.

Only some teams will come into the season with long championship basketball odds at a sportsbook, but these teams were exceptionally bad.

With that in mind, let’s look at the five worst NBA records in the regular season.

What’s the Worst NBA Record Ever?

The 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats finished with the worst NBA record ever at 7-59.

The season was only 66 games due to a lockout that ultimately caused the league to start play on Christmas in 2011.

The Bobcats sat with a 7-36 record after defeating the Toronto Raptors 107-103 on March 17, 2012, but that proved to be their last win of the season before losing 23 straight games to close out the shortened campaign.

To make matters worse, Charlotte didn’t capitalize on its favourable NBA odds of winning the draft lottery. They ended up with the second pick in the draft as the New Orleans Hornets secured the first pick.
