  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (-600) exploded for 50 points on Wednesday.
  • Nikola Jokić (+425) is averaging 29.2 points on 64.1% shooting in his last six games.
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (+12500) is out through at least the All-Star break with a calf injury.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (-600) and Nikola Jokić (+425) are helping their teams go on long winning streaks.

With SGA and Jokić in a heated battle, let’s take a look at the NBA betting odds of the top MVP candidates at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Prediction: Who Will Win the NBA MVP in 2025?

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the current favourite to win the NBA MVP in 2025 with basketball odds of -600, followed by:

  • Nikola Jokić (+425)
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (+12500)
  • Jayson Tatum (+30000)
  • Victor Wembanyama (+30000)

I predict Gilgeous-Alexander will win the 2025 NBA MVP because he is scoring the ball at an elite level, averaging 32.7 points on 52.8% shooting.

SGA has also helped lead the Oklahoma City Thunder (42-9) to the best record in the league.

2025 NBA MVP Best Bets & Odds

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander MVP Odds -600

Gilgeous-Alexander is currently -600 to win the MVP award.

SGA exploded for 50 points on 18-of-29 shooting in OKC’s 140-109 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.

The last time he scored less than 25 points in a game was on Dec. 28, though Chet Holmgren’s return could allow Gilgeous-Alexander to take a step back in the offence.

Gilgeous-Alexander has the highest ticket (14.5%) and handle (24.1%) percentage for the NBA MVP, according to BetMGM Sportsbook Insights.

Nikola Jokić MVP Odds +425

Jokić is currently +425 to win the MVP award.

The Joker is averaging 29.2 points on 64.1% shooting, 11.8 assists, and 10.8 rebounds in his last six games.

At this point, I think most people are just so used to Jokić posting these numbers that it’s just an expectation.

I almost wonder if his odds would be shorter had he not been MVP for three of the last four years.

Giannis Antetokounmpo MVP Odds +12500

Antetokounmpo is currently +12500 to win the MVP award.

He is expected to be out for at least through the All-Star break due to a calf injury, though he’s expected to return shortly after the break.

Antetokounmpo is in serious jeopardy of becoming disqualified from earning any awards this season, as he’s missed 10 games. Players need to play in at least 65 games to qualify for any award.

Jayson Tatum MVP Odds +30000

Tatum is currently +30000 to win the MVP award.

He went off for 40 points on 13-of-26 shooting, six rebounds, and four assists in the Boston Celtics’ 131-104 win over the New York Knicks on Saturday.

Tatum is prone to poor shooting performances, but his playmaking and defence help make him effective even when his shot is not falling.

He’ll be in the mix as long as Boston keeps winning.

Victor Wembanyama MVP Odds +30000

Wembanyama is currently +30000 to win the MVP award.

The San Antonio Spurs are three games out of a play-in spot, but Wembanyama continues to post solid numbers.

Wemby has averaged 23 points on 45.3% shooting, 11.2 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, three assists, and 1.2 steals in his last five games.

The 21-year-old has a bright future, but I’m not ready to crown him MVP just yet.
