Atlanta Hawks Futures Odds
Win Total: 35.5
Southeast Division: +1500
Eastern Conference: +15000
NBA Championship: +5000
The NBA odds market doesn’t see Atlanta making a deep run this season.
The Hawks have finished under their win total in three straight seasons and have their lowest over/under at the start of the season since 2020-2021. This prediction is seven games fewer than last season’s.
Atlanta’s basketball odds are also longer than +700 to win their division for the first time since 2018-2019.
Atlanta Hawks Offseason Moves
The Hawks parted with Dejounte Murray after a two-year experiment with him and Trae Young in the same backcourt.
The key acquisitions were Dyson Daniels and Larry Nance Jr., who both came over in the trade that sent Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans.
They also drafted Zaccharie Risacher with the first overall pick in the draft.

Atlanta Hawks 2024-25 Betting Prediction
Prediction: Under 35.5 Wins (+100)
I predict that the Hawks will end up under 35.5 wins this upcoming season.
The Hawks’ chances of landing the first pick in the 2025 NBA Draft will not matter to them since the San Antonio Spurs own that pick, which was part of the deal that sent Murray to Atlanta.
However, this team may still decide to start pivoting toward a rebuild anyway and start building their future around Risacher, who will need the ball in his hands as much as possible sooner rather than later if the Hawks want to maximize his potential.
Young has been frequently mentioned in trade rumours. The Hawks could look to ship him out once they get a package to their liking, or Young could just as easily request a trade by the deadline if Atlanta is struggling to maintain a .500 record.
In my opinion, Young receives too much criticism. Sure, his field goal percentage isn’t amazing, but he can still orchestrate a championship-contending offence on a team that gives him more to work with while masking some of his deficiencies, such as his defence. It’s hard to find a quick, shifty guard like him with his floater and 3-point shot.
Daniels was a major pickup for Atlanta. He has all the tools to be a pest defensively, given his long wingspan, which helps him stay in front of his defenders to shut down the drive at the point of attack and play the passing lanes. However, his offensive game is still a work in progress.
Jalen Johnson took a big leap forward last season, showcasing an elite ability to finish at the rim and guard multiple positions while shooting the 3-pointer and facilitating the ball at a solid clip. Injuries are a concern with Johnson, though, and over 75% of his made field goals last season were assisted, which suggests he’s not ready to take over as the bonafide second option of this team.
Bogdan Bogdanović and De’Andre Hunter will likely continue to give the Hawks solid production on both sides of the floor, and Nance Jr.’s veteran presence should be a welcomed addition to the locker room.
The Hawks could finally decide to unleash Onyeka Okongwu, who offers solid rim protection and switchability on defence, and place him in the starting five over Clint Capela, which would bolster Atlanta’s defence and give coach Quin Snyder a ton of flexibility when it comes to setting his lineups throughout a game.
The Hawks are certainly capable of hitting the over if everything goes according to plan, but with Young’s name hot in trade rumours, the youth and injury concerns on this roster, and the expectation that it takes time for new pieces to gel, I don’t see Atlanta hitting the over on this win total this upcoming season. They can still potentially be a play-in team since the Eastern Conference is still very weak.
