The number of teams with perfect records in MLS is down to four (San Diego, Vancouver, LAFC, and San Jose), all of which reside in the Western Conference.

MLS odds favourites Inter Miami lost on opening day to LAFC, but won both games since, including a 2-1 win over D.C. United on Saturday.

MLS Cup Prediction: Who Will Win the MLS Cup in 2026?

I predict LAFC will win the MLS Cup in 2026.

Although it’s early, LAFC has shown an ability to win in various ways thanks to numerous goal-scoring threats.

MLS Cup Favourites

LAFC made it three wins in a row, securing a narrow 1-0 home victory over FC Dallas. Their unblemished record comes despite Son Heung-Min still searching for his first goal of the season. LAFC are one of three teams (San Jose, San Diego) that haven’t conceded a goal.

After missing the playoffs last season, San Jose continued its hot start with a 1-0 away victory against the Philadelphia Union. Timo Werner has two assists in his opening two matches with the Earthquakes after arriving from German side RB Leipzig in January.

The Vancouver Whitecaps remain arguably the most dominant team in MLS, beating Portland 4-1 and outscoring opponents 8-1 through three matches.

Toronto FC secured their first win of the season, impressively beating Cincinnati FC 1-0 on the road. Cincinnati has the fifth-shortest MLS odds at the BetMGM sportsbook to win it all, underscoring the importance of the victory.

It marked Toronto’s first victory at TQL Stadium in five meetings.

Montreal’s struggles continued as it lost 3-0 away to the New York Red Bulls. Montreal lost all three games by a combined 11-0.

San Diego FC, meanwhile, again showed their defensive prowess, with a third successive shutout in a 1-0 victory over Sporting KC.
