  • Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami is a +450 favourite to win the 2025 MLS Cup.
  • Philadelphia tops the Eastern Conference standings with 37 points from 18 matches.
  • Vancouver remains atop the West despite Saturday’s defeat in Columbus.

Saturday’s slate of games represented the final MLS action before a 10-day pause for the FIFA Club World Cup and CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Three MLS sides, Inter Miami, Los Angeles FC, and the Seattle Sounders, are participating in the Club World Cup, and several players from other teams will represent their countries at the Gold Cup.

This break in the regular season provides an optimal opportunity to assess the latest MLS odds and update my best bets to win the 2025 MLS Cup.

Prediction: Who Will Win the MLS Cup in 2025?

Inter Miami remains the betting favourite to win the MLS Cup in 2025. However, its +450 odds are longer than they were at the start of the season.

Miami’s closest competitors at the BetMGM sportsbook are:

  • Vancouver Whitecaps FC (+700)
  • Philadelphia Union (+800)
  • Los Angeles FC (+1000)
  • San Diego FC (+1000)
  • Columbus Crew (+1100)

I predict the Vancouver Whitecaps will win the 2025 MLS Cup.

Jesper Sørensen’s squad sits atop the Western Conference with 35 points through 17 matches. The club proved its quality by becoming the third Canadian team to reach the final of the CONCACAF Champions Cup before ultimately falling to Cruz Azul.

2025 MLS Cup Favourites & Best Bets

Inter Miami MLS Cup Odds +450

Inter Miami played in the opening contest of the Club World Cup on Saturday, drawing Egyptian side Al Ahly SC 0-0 at Hard Rock Stadium.

While that result has no bearing on its MLS odds, it was a bit surprising for Lionel Messi’s squad to come up empty after strong attacking performances against Montreal and Columbus in recent weeks.

Miami sits sixth in the Eastern Conference standings but has two games in hand on the five teams above it. This older squad will have a busy back half of the season.

Vancouver Whitecaps MLS Cup Odds +700

The Whitecaps were missing two of their best players, Brian White and Sebastian Berhalter, for Saturday’s 2-1 defeat in Columbus, so I’m not going to read much into Vancouver’s second setback of the campaign.

However, the timing of the absence of the USMNT duo isn’t ideal, especially with Vancouver set to face Western Conference contenders San Diego FC and LAFC in its first two matches back.

Philadelphia Union MLS Cup Odds +800

Philadelphia extended its unbeaten streak to 12 games across all competitions with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Charlotte FC on Saturday.

Markus Anderson volleyed home the winning goal in the 98th minute, giving the Union all three points after Charlotte’s Wilfried Zaha had cancelled out Jesus Bueno’s opener late in the second half.

Bradley Carnell’s squad has made a habit of leaving it late, as Anderson’s goal was its second stoppage-time winner in its last three matches.

After the break, Philadelphia will look to keep the good vibes going when it visits the Chicago Fire.

Seattle Sounders MLS Cup Odds +1600

The Sounders lost to Minnesota and Vancouver in their final MLS matches before the FIFA Club World Cup, which resulted in Seattle’s MLS Cup odds falling slightly.

However, I’m still willing to play the long game on a team that reached the conference finals last season and has flashed its best form at times this campaign.

This roster is loaded with talent and, when healthy, can match up with the league’s best.

San Jose Earthquakes MLS Cup Odds +5000

The Earthquakes have long-shot soccer odds to win the MLS Cup, but I think they offer more upside than several teams further down the odds board.

San Jose is the second-highest scoring team in the league (35 goals), one behind Inter Miami, and it has a coach in Bruce Arena, who is the most accomplished manager in league history (five MLS Cup wins).

The Quakes have only lost once since the start of May in all competitions and will be a team to look out for in the second half of the year.
