The Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC mounted improbable comebacks in the return of MLS, with the former keeping pace with LAFC in the Western Conference thanks to goals in the 91st and 95th minutes.

Toronto FC completed its comeback in the 85th minute, with new signing Josh Sargent scoring the late winner. Toronto FC’s odds have improved from +4000 to +2800 over the last two matchdays.

Odds to Win the MLS Cup 2026

MLS Cup Prediction: Who Will Win the MLS Cup in 2026?

I predict LAFC will win the MLS Cup in 2026.

LAFC continued its defensive dominance in Matchweek 6, keeping a sixth successive clean sheet. They are the only team yet to concede a goal.

MLS Cup Favourites

MLS odds favourite Inter Miami played its first match at Nu Stadium, the franchise’s $350 million stadium.

Luis Suarez ensured the Herons would leave with a share of the spoils, scoring the equalizer against Austin FC in the 82nd minute.

Meanwhile, LAFC sits atop the MLS standings after a dominant 6-0 win over hapless Orlando City SC. Son Heung-Min became the second player to register four assists in one half, tying the record Lionel Messi set in 2024.

Despite being considered outsiders to win the MLS Cup at the BetMGM sportsbook, the San Jose Earthquakes continued their dream start to the campaign, beating San Diego 3-0 without the injured Timo Werner.

San Jose is tied with Vancouver, with both teams winning five and losing one.

Vancouver completed the season sweep over the Portland Timbers, thanks to two late goals at BC Place. It deserved all three points after controlling over 61% of the possession and outshooting the visitors 22-9.

Nashville is two points up on New York City FC, Inter Miami, and Charlotte, the latter of which was the only team to win. It beat the Philadelphia Union 2-1.

Thanks to no wins and six losses, Philadelphia’s odds have decreased substantially since the start of the season, moving from +2000 to +5000.

Hope is hard to come by in Montreal as Marco Donadel’s team lost to New England 3-0, making it five losses in six games.
