  • The Philadelphia Union is the new MLS Cup odds (+275) favourite after advancing to the second round.
  • The Vancouver Whitecaps and LAFC will join the Union in the conference semifinals.
  • Game 3 of the five remaining first-round series takes place from Friday to Sunday.

Three of the eight spots in the MLS conference semifinals are spoken for after the Vancouver Whitecaps, LAFC, and Philadelphia Union swept their first-round playoff series.

The Union are the new MLS Cup odds favourites after brushing aside the Chicago Fire in the first round.

Despite having to play Game 3 against Nashville, Inter Miami’s odds were barely impacted, moving from +320 to +350.

Prediction: Who Will Win the MLS Cup in 2025?

The Philadelphia Union is the betting favourite to win the MLS Cup in 2025 at +275 odds.

Its closest competitors at the BetMGM sportsbook are:

  • Inter Miami (+350)
  • Vancouver Whitecaps (+450)
  • Los Angeles FC (+600)
  • San Diego FC (+700)
  • FC Cincinnati (+1400)
  • Minnesota United (+2000)

I predict Inter Miami will win the 2025 MLS Cup. They face a challenging Game 3 against Nashville, but should prevail at home.

2025 MLS Cup Favourites & Best Bets

Philadelphia Union MLS Cup Odds +275

Philadelphia ended Chicago’s hopes after scoring two goals in the opening 16 minutes of Game 2. The Union’s 3-0 victory was as emphatic as it was aesthetically pleasing.

The No. 1 seed in the East awaits the winner of New York City FC and Charlotte.

Inter Miami MLS Cup Odds +350

The Herons no longer have the shortest soccer odds to win the MLS Cup. With their 2-1 Game 2 loss, many will wonder whether Inter Miami will be ousted in the first round for the second consecutive season.

I can’t see lightning striking twice, though, as the Herons’ veteran group is well-versed on how to excel in pressure-packed situations like Game 3 offers. A home win should be on the cards for Lionel Messi and Co.

Vancouver Whitecaps MLS Cup Odds +450

The Whitecaps completed the sweep of Dallas FC on the road in Game 2, requiring a shootout to get the job done.

The team with the shortest odds in the Western Conference will face LAFC in the second round, whom they tied at home and beat in Los Angeles earlier this season.

Los Angeles FC MLS Cup Odds +600

LAFC demolished Austin FC in the first round, outscoring the club 6-1.

LAFC’s dynamic duo made up for not scoring in Game 1, with Son Heung-min bagging the opener and Denis Bouanga netting twice before halftime in Game 2. They’ll face the Whitecaps for the first time since having Son on the team.

San Diego FC MLS Cup Odds +700

San Diego FC conceded in the 98th minute in Game 2 against the Portland Timbers, preventing their advancement into Round 2.

The Western Conference’s top seed will get another opportunity in Game 3, this time in San Diego. The result is far from assured, though, as San Diego was mediocre at home during the regular season, ranking ninth in the Western Conference.

FC Cincinnati MLS Cup Odds +1400

Cincinnati’s odds lengthened from +900 to +1400 after a woeful 4-0 drubbing to the Columbus Crew in Game 2.

I have grave concerns for the higher-seeded team entering Game 3, as it had the eighth-ranked home record in the Eastern Conference. Fortunately, the Crew weren’t that impressive on their travels, ranking seventh in the East.
