  • Sebastian Giovinco is Toronto FC’s all-time scoring leader with 83 goals.
  • Jozy Altidore is second in scoring and netted the winner in the 2017 MLS Cup.
  • Michael Bradley is the club’s longest-serving captain.

Toronto FC has struggled in recent seasons, and it entered the 2025 campaign with the joint-longest preseason MLS odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook. However, things haven’t always been this way.

The Reds have historically been the most successful Canadian club in Major League Soccer. In 2017, TFC became the first team north of the border to win the Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup, and it completed an unprecedented domestic treble by also claiming the Canadian Championship.

Many of the club’s all-time great players featured on that squad, but I’ll highlight another honourable mention or two below.

Here is my list of the five best Toronto FC MLS players of all time.

Toronto FC All-Time Greatest Players

1. Sebastian Giovinco

Giovinco only spent four seasons with Toronto FC, but his impact was massive.

The Italian import was one of the first players to swap Europe for MLS in his prime and burst onto the scene in his debut campaign, winning MLS MVP honours after becoming the first player to score 20-plus goals and dish out 10-plus assists in a season.

Giovinco remains the club’s all-time leading scorer with 83 goals and played an instrumental role in the 2017 treble-winning campaign. He earned MLS Best XI honours three times and was an All-Star all four seasons. Giovinco is now a Club Ambassador after making Toronto home.

2. Jozy Altidore

Altidore has a case to take the top spot on this list, especially considering his longevity at the club. However, the former USMNT striker never quite hit the heights Giovinco did.

Still, Altidore’s impact was considerable. He ranks second on TFC’s all-time scoring list (79) and was particularly prolific in the postseason, scoring eight times in 13 playoff matches.

Altidore helped lead the club to three MLS Cup appearances and notched the winning goal in the 2017 triumph over Seattle.

3. Michael Bradley

Bradley was a stalwart in central midfield during his decade with the club and served as its captain for nine seasons. He made over 300 appearances for Toronto across all competitions, ranking second in team history.

The former USMNT captain played a vital role as the midfield engine that allowed players in front of him, like Altidore and Giovinco, to put up their gaudy statistics. Bradley was a three-time MLS All-Star and won four Canadian Championships during his time with TFC.

4. Jonathan Osorio

If I partake in any soccer betting during the 2025 MLS season, Osorio is a Toronto FC player I would target for a goal or assist prop.

The current club captain is the most capped player in its history, appearing in over 350 matches across all competitions, including more than 300 in league play. Over that stretch, he has made over 100 goal contributions and currently sits behind just Giovinco and Altidore on the all-time scoring list.

The 32-year-old still has some gas in the tank, so he could move up this list depending on how his career plays out.

5. Dwayne De Rosario

The final spot on this list was the toughest decision, but I don’t have any regrets about taking one of the top Canadian players ever to grace the pitch.

The Ontario native spent four seasons with TFC across two separate stints, serving as captain of his hometown club from 2010-2011. De Rosario scored double-digit goals in 2009 and 2010, earning MLS Best XI honours in both seasons.

The attacking midfielder also led the Reds to Canadian Championships in both those campaigns, earning MVP honours in the domestic competition each time.
