  • Sutter Health Park is the smallest MLB stadium in 2026.
  • Ten MLB stadiums have a capacity of less than 40,000.
  • The two largest ballparks are in the NL West.

A ballpark can have a significant impact on MLB betting decisions. Some venues favour hitters, while others suppress offence.

Home advantage is more significant for some teams than others, and it’s not always about who has the smallest or largest capacity.

It’s essential to understand the differences in MLB stadium sizes when evaluating the latest baseball odds.

Which MLB Park Is the Smallest?

The Athletics have the smallest ballpark in the majors with a capacity of 13,416. Sutter Health Park is the temporary home of the Athletics after they departed Oakland at the end of the 2024 season. If everything goes to plan, the Athletics will relocate to Las Vegas for opening day of the 2028 season.

It is the permanent home of the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. To prepare the stadium for the Athletics’ arrival, the ballpark underwent major renovations, including the installation of improved technology to maintain the grass surface and the construction of a new clubhouse.

With the Tampa Bay Rays returning to Tropicana Field for the 2026 season, Sutter Health Park is by far the smallest MLB stadium.

Tropicana Field is the only other ballpark with a capacity of under 34,000.
