In Canada, baseball is most popular in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces. According to a study from 2023, 31% of people in Ontario watch MLB closely or very closely. That number is 25% in the Atlantic provinces.

Quebec had the lowest interest in baseball, with just 11% of people saying they watch MLB closely or very closely.

Across the country, around 21% of people are MLB fans. Interest was at its highest in the early 1990s when the Toronto Blue Jays were consistent baseball betting favourites to win the World Series and claimed back-to-back titles in 1992 and 1993. Between 25% and 30% of Canadians were baseball fans in this period.

In 2005, less than 15% of Canadians were baseball fans. The sport has enjoyed a resurgence over the last decade or so.
