Despite Toronto Blue Jays World Series odds often making them one of the AL’s favourites to win the title, the Jays had to wait 32 years between the second and third pennants.
Over the franchise’s history, Jays fans have been faced with more than their fair share of disappointments. Stacked teams fell at the ALCS in 2015 and 2016. Talented rosters were swept at the wild-card round in 2020, 2022, and 2023.
When Was the Last Time the Blue Jays Won the Pennant?
The 2025 season is the last time the Blue Jays won the pennant.
Before reaching the 2025 Fall Classic, the last time the Jays won the pennant (1993) was also the last time the Blue Jays won a World Series. Toronto reached the World Series in 1992 and 1993, winning the title on both occasions. It was the first time in 15 years that a franchise had won back-to-back titles.
In 1993, the Jays saw off the Philadelphia Phillies in six games to defend their title. Since then, the New York Yankees between 1998 and 2000 are the only other team to have won consecutive World Series.
