When Is MLB Opening Day in 2025?

MLB Opening Day in 2025 is March 27. This is the traditional curtain-raiser for the new season, with all 30 teams in action. Seven games will follow on March 28, before a full slate on Saturday.

The first games of the 2025 regular season will be played before March 27, however. The 2025 MLB season actually begins between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs in Japan on March 18. It is the sixth time that MLB has started its season in Japan and the second time in two years.

Of course, odds will be available at the BetMGM online sportsbook for these matchups featuring Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shota Imanaga, and Seiya Suzuki. This is the first time ever that four Japanese players will be featured on the MLB rosters for the Tokyo Series.
